No. (Sorry in advance for the derail).

Leggings are usually a thin material, but tights are much thinner. Tights are nearly sheer (depending on which type you buy, if you buy dance tights they are much more sturdy so that they can hold up to all of the friction from legs rubbing together and whatnot), leggings are solid. The material in tights makes them extremely pliant, while leggings are less so. Leggings are thicker and can be worn as regular pants, whereas tights are almost never thick enough to provide adequate coverage the way a pair of pants would. Basically, one is considered outerwear, and one is not.

That said, male dancers generally wear tights for rehearsals, but their performance costumes are usually more of a cross between a tight and a legging, as they're much thinner than leggings but thick enough to hide all of the guy's naughty bits and leg hairs and whatnot.

It's only partially, I suppose. Runners wear leggings, dancers wear tights. And Robin Hood's merry men, I suppose, wear either of the two, depending on which version you enjoy.

It's kind of ridiculous how many former Flames are on the Avs. And they're all from the Iggy era too which just makes it more funny. Iggy, Tanguay, Comeau, Street, Stuart, Sarich (before he retired), Berra, even Glencross got a PTO with them after he was let go by Toronto.

It makes me want to win against them all the more
