Only 1 piece remains from that first trade. And frankly, while I strongly disliked him being on the team at first (where they were trying to get 1st and 2nd line minutes for him), I'm actually really happy with Stajan on the team now and the role he plays. Great veteran presence and a good depth player on the 3rd/4th lines.

Love Phaneuf being gone, means they can move on with Rielly long term, never understood why they extended Phaneuf for so long when the plan was for Rielly to assume the #1 role. Also allows for Corrado to start getting more ice time finally

WAAAAAAT!? I have been in meetings since 7:30 this morning, just got out and saw a Twittersplosion on the trade. Change the "9000" to "9 players" and this was pretty much my reaction to the TOR / OTT trade. Just the fact TOR and OTT were partners blew my mind.

Dumb trade for Ottawa imo. For Toronto it's great. Freed up a shit load of cap space. And now the Sens are on the hook for another 5 years at 7 mill each for a 30 year old overrated defenseman. Michalek is NOT good and hasn't been for a long time. Cowan is an overpaid big body and that's about it. And Greening doesn't even merit mention.
