Man this episode was fun as hell from start to finish. Thank you Supernatural for finally getting good again. It only took half a decade.
I loved this ep. All the jokes were great, Dean finally letting Sam make a decision, and Amara vs God exchange.
Yeah, this ep. reminded me why I still mostly enjoy the hell out of this show!
Was waiting for them to bring Jesse Turner back :/
Best season in a while but a very meh way to go out.
So next season is
Spoiler: show
From God, his equally powerful sister, and Lucifer to self righteous humans.
I enjoyed the finale, but I was disappointed Dean didn't get to use:
Spoiler: show
meh
Seriously wondering why they took so long to talk it out in the first place. I mean they even sort of did last episode and seemed to come to some more understanding of each other... and then both were like yeah why learn just stick to our guns
I just watched the last 2 EPs (sober for a change) and I'm not as disappointed as I was before. Interesting to see where they take this UK MOL. They "are messing with things they don't understand" and she knows about some stuff and even knew to send Cass away. And here the Winchester's have been working with "God" himself. I have so many questions but lol will have to wait
When Toni "shoots" Sam did you notice that they made a point for it to be quite enough to hear the shell casing drop but nothing else. No grunt, no body fall not even the sound of a missed shot and she has that surprised look on her face. Is Sam still protected like he was when he visited the Witches?
I'm bored, I bet there is a SN forum out there going nuts on theories, I should google
/r/Supernatural
I finally caught the finale, but it felt like I was watching Season 5 finale... This is an accurate representation of what I felt lol.
Otherwise, definitely thought this season was one of the better ones, plus there were quite a lot of memorable episodes. "Baby", "Just My Imagination", and "Safe House" were a couple of my favorites.
Very curious to see how it goes for next season. Makes sense there would be other chapters of the MoL; supernatural beings were obviously not just in the US (since so much lore had foreign roots). Also, it kind of opens up the door to hunters from all other parts of the world (although they probably wouldn't touch on it).
Binged the season on Netflix. Was so much better than recent seasons, in spite Amara not really being the nasty bad I think they were aiming for. The smallness of their god was also kind of offputting. Like, it strongly reeks of not knowing how to write good or evil, and it flailed all over the place with relative power-- meh. I get that writing all-powerful is beyond difficult if you want to leave things interesting, and that's kind of why you just don't try. Especially not in an episodic medium. "We're billions of years old, and we need pithy advice from 30/40-somethings to see the error of our ways."
Still, Baby was probably the best single episode of the series, and Just My Imagination was fantastic, too. And my dissatisfaction with Amara/god aside, this was still far better written than the last five years (especially Leviathans season... holy heck that season was awful). I know the trend is mega-plots, but... this show is so much better when it's character driven instead of trying to be plot-driven. And if you are going to have a mega-plot, something more personal (Yellow Eyes) works sooooooooooooo much better than something apocalyptic (literally everything since, including the end of the Yellow Eyes bit).
I really wanted Sam to say "You know, we're like friends with God and he hasn't complained about anything"
Also, the scene "I've been tortured by LUCIFER, You really think you can make me talk" And they are shocked that he wouldn't talk.
