Just got done seeing this and I thought it was a good movie. Glad I stayed all the way through the credits and had a massive grin the entire time.


Had a sweet soundtrack too.

Jing Tian worst offender. pmuch only there because tencent was all "Hey, we're swinging our dick, put a Chinese actor in the film."


It's a decent giant monster film though. Legendary has proved it's got this.

Absolutely loved this film. Thought it was better than the 75 and 2005 versions. Then I saw the after credits scene and decided it was better than the original, too.

Finally saw this. Enjoyed it way more than expected. Definitely better than the 2005 crap. Kong works way better as a popcorn flick than some bloated remake of the original.

I'm loving the setup for the Monsters movie universe.

Just saw it. Not going to say the movie was garbage but is nothing special. Didn't care for any of the characters or Kong. Not once did I find myself rooting for the monkey. In contrast, I thought PJ's Kong was superior. Kong has a distinct personality, they did a pretty godamn good job capturing just enough humanity in his facial/eye expressions to feel sympathy for the Monster. Kong also has this man-in-a-suit feeling to him, that's obviously PJ paying tribute to the original, but it gives him weight, a physical presence that was absent in this one.

If you like shit blowing up go for it.

Btw, is it Godzilla vs King Kong? Both are good peeps, so idk, maybe they'll team up to fight King Gidora or idk.

Saw this last night, wished I was drunker. It's not the worst movie ever, but it's not really very good. It's beautiful and stupid and the monster fights were great. The rest...not so much.

Though for sure if you went into this looking for more than the above, you probably weren't being realistic about things.
