    WAR has the strongest hate generation period and as long as they have SE, SP, and excellent mitigation they're not going anywhere.

    Deliverance is not why people bring WAR, it's why a lot of people play WAR tho.

    PLD and DRK are far worse off already whatever the future changes may bring, their enmity combos are their weakest combos and DRK doesn't even recover MP when using theirs, lowering their damage even further.

    Could understand the Mudra thing possibly being sketchy since lag can obviously involve anything between the player and the servers, including any technical snafus with the player's PC hardware. Master race, etc..

    Obviously better on the wallet if we don't have to overmeld, but if they tune the fights with all materia slots containing a tier 5 materia, then assuming slots available stays the same as what we can currently meld we'll have 18 materia that we need to use, which will be massively more expensive then current and previous tank melded accessories ever needed. Not only that but now all 8 members of the party need to do it.

    And lets not rule out the probability that upgraded gear will likely have any melds wiped clean.

    Officially stated... Only secondary stats can be Melded into Raid/Tome gear. No Overmelding. So we can assume 1-2 guaranteed Materia slots that will not allow main stats. Including PIE which is far from a main stat currently.

    So the real question is... will gear have enough accuracy by itself to have us hit caps with food or does the new system force melding accuracy? Either way, we are going to see Accuracy melding to be the norm, followed by Crit. WHM's may go for Det and BLM (and other jobs with SS thresholds) may go for SS.

    This isn't fun, it does give us a bit more leeway into how we gear. However seeing as we will once again only have 2 sets of viable gear at the level, it really doesnt fricking matter. Its only giving us more illusion that we have any choices in the matter anyway.

    They also confirmed last night (On Duty Commenced of all things) that the points you earn from Exploratory Voyages can be exchanged for Tier V materia.

    That's some good news. That plus spirit binding should come in useful in getting a better supply of them.

    That's not really any different than how dungeon drops would be if GC points were valuable... except that since now it's greed only, you aren't subject to role-drop RNG when you get people who otherwise Need on everything.

    I've put it like this before: if Deliverance gave no damage boost and FC/Deci had the same potencies as IB/SC WAR would still be just as much of a lock for one of the tank spots (with said limitations I'd hesitate to say DRK would pull ahead on single target damage as well, but they'd still need a WAR there for slashing debuff, which is kind of the point I'm getting at).

    The fact that Deliverance/FC/Deci are the way they are makes the job a lot smoother and more fun to play compared to the other tanks, being top tank DPS is just the cherry on top.

    Not necessarily true. Our tank comp is DRK+PLD. Our PLD only plays WAR on A4S because of the dps. No other reason.

    Your comp is your comp but it would be hard to argue that if your PLD was a WAR it wouldn't improve your overall effectiveness.

    For sure. But the lack of ball buster attacks kind of made it whatever if you're not going world first speed.

    I'm curious why we need 24 hours unless they plan on making major infrastructure changes. In which case, why didn't they do this when they disconnected EU from the NA datacenter?
