Looks nice except the bad CG mechs; seriously, why is Japan so bad at that? Hopefully they paint them over, like they did in Frontier, or whatever they did to blend it so that it looks like it belongs in the animation.

Macross Delta Ep1 preview(Spring Season show)

Well this was Macross but only difference we have a pop group saving the world than usual one(also they have magical powers for some reason). can't judge the characters yet since it's only first character but I can already spot the fan favorite. I did find it funny Freyja "heart hair" was reacting to music and she exploded with joy to the song.

Animation good but music so far isn't as good was Frontier.

You don't need to see any of the old Macross to watch Delt. also worth watching really depends on your taste.

I saw the preview episode of Delta and didn't like it, as it clashed horribly with my memories of the franchise as a child when I only knew it as the Robotech version along with the glorious Macross Plus. I then made it my mission to watch everything Macross related during the winter season. Original Macross, Macross Do you Remember Love, Macross II, Macross Plus (both versions), Macross 7, Macross Zero, Macross Frontier, and any specials I could get my hands on.

I still didn't like what I saw in Delta, but it fit in a lot better with the series as a whole than I expected and I'm willing to give it another shot just to see how weird it gets.

I think my point is that if only only know Macross from the early days of Robotech or Macross Plus you're going to be in for a heck of a protoculture shock.

Sooooo, who's watching? We've got sightings of VF-1s and Minmay so far~

That said, I still wish they would just drop the magical girl-esque clothing changes and stick with the 'normal' ones (Sheryl changed clothes 'normally,' why can't they??) and I'm not too happy with some of the design changes to the fighters which seem to have carried over from the Messiahs. Also, Hayate's dancing Battroid is kinda killing me..

I'm watching because it's Macross. The magical girl shit is kind of dumb and overall the lets try making MC like Alto is kind of bleh. I'm just hoping now that they fleshed everything out finally we may get some actual story and enjoyment can follow.

Ok so I finally picked this one up. I'm a real old hat Macross/Robotech fan from back in the day, but I haven't really watched anything after Macross Plus (I tried Macross 7 when it came out, but didn't get past the first episode).

First Impressions : Great so far (thru ep 10). Makes Hundred from the spring season look like amateur hour with its still frame singing idols. Story's good and stands on its own, but I have a feeling there's many things I'm missing because I haven't watched 7/Frontier.
