This happened on the road I drive for work.




People here are just really shitty drivers. There is always insane traffic and 9/10 it's because someone hit someone else because they can't plan ahead for traffic making it worse for everyone. A few months back, I got rear ended by a trailer in the lane next over because he slammed is breaks to prevent hitting the guy in front of him. (Trailer swung and hit me instead.)

Both are dicks in this situation. Is there anything recorded from before this clip started? I've been on both sides - bikers in N.Y. are dicks and drivers in N.Y. and N.J. are vaginas with teeth.

I find I have to be incredibly aggressive with my driving in NY just so I can get the hell away from everyone else so they don't involve me in their inevitable accident.

There was clearly something going on there, more than what was filmed, considering they knew it was coming. I'm guessing the car was being an ass and the biker got pissed.

Biker shouldn't have kicked the car, car definitely shouldn't have hit the biker, but I have a feeling the car got what was coming to him. I just feel bad for that Escalade that rolled.

The guy that filmed it said they (the drivers of the incident) were road raging pretty hard for a bit before it, which is why he decided to start filming. According to him, the car driver cut off the motorcyclist initially which started the road rage between them.

I think they were both ridiculous to let it get to that point. Cops are still on the look out for the motorcyclist as he didn't stop. So he's going to get charged with a hit and run if they find him.

The bike didn't "hit and run" as far as I know. That's not the definition. Leaving the scene of an accident and reckless driving maybe but the entire process of causing the crash was 100% on the car. Can't kick a car into a tailspin.

Any contact between vehicles and then leaving the scene constitutes a hit and run. Doesn't matter if he kicked the car while riding his motorcycle or he hits the car with his bike, both would still constitute hit and run. Same would be if someone tossed something from their car that damaged yours and drove off, that would be a hit and run as well.

Reading the article, supposedly this all stemmed from the fact the motorcyclist got clipped by the car when the car was trying to exit the carpool lane and mister motorcyclist decided instead of contacting CHP, he was going to kick a dent in the car, which escalated the situation.

I think the argument could be made that the kick caused the driver to panic, but I have no idea what kind of charges that results in (if any).

But again, I think they are both ridiculous, so I hope they both get some punishment.
