GIF/Sig combo attack is extremely effective!
Hmm. Interesting to say the least. (Couldn't find the thread for the film and didn't want to make a new one as I swear there was one)
what a baller ass cast
Type-casting Rogen as a pig, amirite?
I had to google search that image because that cast list looks too good to be true.
I am confused. It says it is going to be live action similar to Jungle Book remake but the Jungle Book has a human character in it so the live action thing makes sense. There aren't any human characters in the Lion King so they are remaking it in 3d where the backgrounds are the real world? The cast looks amazing but calling it live action is a little strange.
It's being filmed entirely in Blue Screen with VR tech.

"We are going to use a lot of virtual-reality tools so it feels akin to what you are looking at [if you were on a real set]," explained Legato during a keynote that he gave at NAB Show in April. "You can walk around the set like a cameraman. [Wearing VR headsets,] the actors can now walk into a scene and see the other actors and trees … and because you are in 3D, you get a realistic sense [of the environment]."
Dissapointed that's it's not Eric and Hannibal or Key and Peele, missed opportunity.
Spoiler alert: They're all gonna suck.
I'm sure Your Name can be pulled off but everything will be a dumpster fire.

Everything will be whitewashed, made overly generic and simplified, skimming over important details and moments that made the source material good, and flop real hard.
Voltron and Akira could be so amazing if they don't screw up the story and whitewash it. Too bad the chances they don't screw them up is slim to none.
Well, the common problem with a lot of the live-action anime movie adaptations is they try to cram 12-24 episodes of content (or volumes of manga) into 90m adaptations, or worse, ignore all that and try to reinvent the wheel. You just get way, way, way too much lost in translation before you even start factoring in white washing or localization issues.
Of course, a lot of this has been discussed in older anime threads. Bleach could "work" as a supernatural monster slayer if it stuck to the school environment and either ended with Byakuya and Renji coming for Rukia or really just them taking a Menos or something. Naruto has it worse since things don't really get real until the Zabuza arc, but you can't just cut the earlier team building aspects or the personifications of Naruto and Sasuke relative to their lives up until then. Going from the start to 4th ninja war is just something that'd be disastrous, but nonetheless something some Hollywood idiot would try. SAO would need to limit itself to Aincrad, but then you'd probably get a lot of things cut out like Kirito failing that lowbie guild or the side episodes with some of the girls that were a bit more about world building/waifu bait than the core objective of beating the game. Not gonna lie, the Gleam Eyes fight would be awesome to see, though.
Things like Akira or Your Name may have more of a chance simply because they already are anime movies, but you're still gonna have some bullshit moves that go on and I can't bring myself to say Akira aged well as a movie/concept.
Voltron! Starring Zac Efron as Takashi "Shiro" Shirogane.
Dunno, the Bleach trailer had promise.
