The problem with TMNT was it had two fuck you jumps and the dam section. Take away those three parts and the game was pretty easy, especially abusing the mystic scrolls that eviscerate the technodrome and the shredder. I was actually able to beat that game as a kid. Battletoads though was on a whole other level of fuck you. Then there was "co-op" which should have been renamed "How to lose your best friend in 10 minutes."

Dark Souls has pretty impeccable controls if you ask me and the best thing about it is that when you died you felt (at least 98% of the time) it's because it's your own damn fault, not because of glitches or bullshit.

After man hours of working on that level in battletoads, where you almost don't even have to watch the screen because it is all muscle memory, you finally beat it. Only to fall off the snake within a few mins on the next level and die.... just to start over.

Dark souls really isnt that hard. Its not even a case of smug. Just practice. Hence the git gud meme. Practice is how you git gud at anything.

Dark Souls is hard in the same way Minesweeper is hard. There is a clear system of rules and when you break one, you lose.

Variety game streamers are pretty much shit until they have cut their teeth on Dark Souls and/or IWBTB playthrough.

dark souls is only challenging once, your first time. after knowing the layouts of enemies and upgrades it will punish recklessness and impatience, but is never unfairly difficult (except dark souls 3 teleporting dogs, those things hax).

Fuck that third portion of the snake levels. That was the part where I officially went fuck it and gave up on it. Had the speed car and surf board levels memorized, but couldn't do the fucking snakes....
