6Souls, do your thing.
6Souls, do your thing.
The hell? Isn't this the 4th or 5th IP Man to be released?
The ones without Donnie Motherfucking Yen don't count.

Yeessss! Love 1/2 because they feel like a love letter to the kung-fu movies from the 80's to early 90s, which I grew up with. I also hope this and the new Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon help Donnie to get some better deals. All he does in between Ip Man seems mediocre at best.
He was pretty good in this:

Correct link. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_Point_(film)
Aevis was referring to after Ip Man 1. Flash Point was done before. Donnie has done a number of other great movies prior to Ip Man as well. I really enjoyed SPL. Never finished Dragon Tiger Gate. I should go back to that.
Yeah, Wu Xia is great, haven't seen Bodyguards & Assassins yet. Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen is decent. Great production value, sets are gorgeous, love the aesthetic of China in the 1920's - 30s. Also got a crush on Qi Shu since her role in Transporter. Sadly, the story turns into a boring mess after the first 15min and ends with the usual "China good, everyone else bad". Still a good watch on a Sunday afternoon.
Steer far away from The Monkey King. I had such high hopes for that one because it looked so good on paper: Donnie + Chow Yun-Fat + Aaron Kwok, adaption of a classic novel and a $100M budget. Not sure where that money went, but certainly not into CGI, which is some of the worst I've ever seen. Acting aside from the three main actors is comically bad and even they are just solid. It seems nobody can do Journey to the West justice, but I'd recommend The Forbidden Kingdom over this one anyday and I wasn't that thrilled by Jackie and Jet Li's version either.
I heard nothing good of Iceman nor The Last Bladesman, but haven't seen them personally.
Have you checked out Stephen Chow's Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons? It's been a while since I last saw it so I don't remember too much of the plot, but I do remember enjoying it a lot and thought it was hilarious. Steph is currently working on a sequel.
Iceman is your typical Hong Kong B-movie. Subpar CGI, plot, acting, everything. Not even Donnie can save that flick.
The Lost Bladesman was aight imo. I enjoyed it for what it was, a live action Dynasty Warriors with Donnie playing as Guan Yu. Not much you can do plot wise when the movie is only about a small bit of the history. Fight choreography was pretty good. Good halberd action.
Bodyguards and Assassins is a top tier movie. Highly recommended.
Saw this in the MRT while traveling in Taiwan, spoilered for huge.
Spoiler: show
This trailer never did get posted
Isn't Donnie supposed to be in a Star Wars spinoff as well coming up?
Yep. So is Jiang Wen, his co-star from The Lost Bladesman who played Cao Cao.
Historically, ip man could never have looked like this when facing mike tyson as ip man was like 90 back in the 80s when his disciple bruce lee died, i think.... actually i think ip man died before bruce lee did even
Body so wet.
Excite.
