Yikes, that does look pretty bad. I'm also not digging the character/artstyle the same way I did the first VC; it doesn't look hand painted any more so much as just a cheap filter placed on top. Starting to look like a pass for me.

I agree that the art style shift removes a lot of the charm of the original titles. This just feels like generic Nomura-inspired JRPG with steampunk references tacked onto a VC setting.

That said, I don't think the game looks terribad. And kinda caught in a weird instance of "If I don't support it, no more VC ever but if I do support it then this is all the VC were going to get moving ahead" kind of conundrum.

Will probably depend on when the english version drops. If its clogged with other releases, then ill probably wait until it price drops and add it to my backlog.

Wow. They destroyed this game. Fight for 5 minutes followed by 20 minutes of cut scenes. Combat is atrocious. Voice actors sound like children. I'll play through out of loyalty to the series but this game is just not good.

Yeah if anyone is wanting to pick this up out of curiosity, don't. Watch a stream or on YT or if you really want to play it.

Deep discount this one. Black friday will probably have it at $20 or less maybe. I'm still going to finish it though but god damn is it annoying to do some fights then get tossed into looooong cutscenes.

I don't hate long cutscenes (something I felt missing from Phantom Pain) but is the story any good? The first one at least had a compelling story and decent characters so I would hope this does too.
