Just to be clear, there are 2 games here. A VC1 HD remaster, and a VC4. The HD remaster sounds like a console release of the pc port, so I doubt that will get a physical release, digital is a possibility or as a preorder bonus for VC4.
From the article linked and the link I posted in the general news thread, it seems VC4 will be more of an rpg than a tactical game. Hopefully they're able to transition it properly so it doesn't lose that magic.
Here for VC4. Fuck the remaster.
Ehhhhhhhhhh, I'm pretty skeptical on VC4, even from this tiny bit of information. Admittedly, I don't know how far the series diverged from 1 since the others didn't come out on goddamn PS3, but this doesn't look like it has much in common with the VC I knew and loved. I'm willing to give it a shot on its own merits, though, if more comes out and it seems okay.
ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhRegarding combat…
Ozawa: (...)
“Battles are conducted by setting commands to buttons. They’re action-ish battles. It takes on the familiar form of recent RPGs. The maximum amount of party members is five. You control one of them, and the rest move based on a set thought process.”
not sure if want
Ew guess I should have read more. Why change a winning formula
Was it not obvious shit would be different when all 3 characters they showed have melee weapons when the games almost exclusively use guns?
Boobs. Hurray for a game we'll (probably) never get.
I actually think Sega may have changed their mind on VC going forward. The pc releases may have swayed their opinion.
The more I look at the new game, the more I think this isn't VC4, but something more along the lines of Suikoden Tactics as a spinoff. Call me an optimist, but if they implement a job system or skill tree setup with traditional VC roles it could be neat.
Valkyria Chronicles: Remaster
I literally cannot see a difference between the PS3 and PS4 version. And if it comes stateside I'll still fucking buy it day one.

Are two and three good? I usually don't like strategy rpgs, but actually was able to get into this one.
2 is not as good. I enjoyed it but I don't think I beat it.
3 never got a localization but it does have a fan translation.
Oh and both of them are PSP only. So you'd need a hacked PSP for 3. 2 you might be able to play on Vita.
3 was definitely worth playing even with the fan translation(which had some major issues.) Two was pretty good but not as good as the others. The sequels did a good job of tying old characters into them etc.
