Apparently the game is much easier than the first one, but very fun. I am ok with this as the first one had some extreme difficulty spikes until you get the dinosaur familiar.

the first one's combat system was so bad. it was like Grandia mixed with Pokémon but then someone drank a looooooot of alcohol during the pregnancy lol. I'm looking forward to the fixes even if it makes it easier.

Yeah, I absolutely hated the combat in the first game and have no idea how it was getting high scores basically everywhere. Story, art, and music are great and all, but I'm playing games for the gameplay before all of that other stuff and it made that game quite annoying to get through for a story that was....okay I guess.

Only thing I didn't like about the first one was the stupid low capture chance at most pokemon. Pretty sure I'm picking this one up, but would like to see how things pan out first.

I was easy for the most part, but given my party setup I had masssssssive difficulty spikes on some boss. The party setup I had made my entire team weak to lightning or something without me realizing it and during the mech town boss I got wrecked like 4-5 times. At least I think that's what happened. It's been a while.
