FFRK - The Burning Blade (FFIV) Boss Strats

Finally beat it after tweaking my setup a bit. Now time to finish up the last couple of elite dungeons and I'm all caught up.

I thought I was going to lose a metal to actions taken ( I'm not entirely sure what makes you lose those metals)

For every action you take (attack, defend, ability, SB) you have one "tick" (for lack of a better word) against you. After a certain number you lose a medal. It used to be 4 actions per trash round and whatever for bosses. The penalty has been reduced twice now I think, so I have no idea what the counts are anymore.

Actions Taken thresholds increased from ~2.65x / 6x per enemy to ~3.06x / ~7.3x per enemy.
Damage Taken thresholds increased from ~29.4% / ~57.7% HP to ~50.8% / ~71.3% HP.
KOs increased from 0 / 2 KOs to 1 / 3 KOs.
Tank Mobs (rounds with single enemies) now count as 2 enemies.

Won with this setup so many s/l of him ping just stupid stuff one shoting people at the start. Or mitigation having a small gap. Totally forgot focus has a + resistance to it. That plus sg and shell really cut it down enough to not need 2 healers. Rw was boon

P Cecil was also one of the first events that came to Global, so anyone playing from the start probably has him over 50.

Mines stuck at 50 because his Memory crystal doesn't fucking exist it seems and I didn't realize this til after that MC/MCII event.

had a shared SB cure on Rosa

Synergy was mostly combined 3*s with the exception of Tellah's rod which I actually ended up needing due to low hones on my steals/not having blizzaja. Would've taken Blizzaja if I had it R3. Used Meteor to keep damage going during odd turns. Turn counting was the hardest part of this with the reset at 50%.

I wanted to try this again now that I have 4 of 5 charachters with moderate fire res.
Resited aoe fire was doing like 200-400. Triple firaga 700ish per cast. I wasn't in any real danger until the very end when he is spamming aoe.

Finally getting around to doing these bonus battles and whilst I cleared the boss rush without a hitch, I do have a one question.

Is it even physically possible to not lose a damage taken medal?

I took people using realm synergy 6* RES gear, took the double deluge plus 1 weak melee hit (under Full Break) before it died (Dismissal + Slow proc > SB zerg under PP). Still lost a damage medal. Wtf lol...

I didn't lose one, but then again I zerged the shit out of him.

The only way I could have taken less damage is by him not getting his 1 melee strike in. I guess I could have taken higher HP characters for less proportional damage?

I have shell, magic breakdown, and SG; but his AoE Blaze is taking like half of everyone's HP; shit is ridic.

I get him down like 20 and at least one person has died faster than I can keep the group healed

Blaze cannot be mitigated
