    Event Info

    Basic information below is copy/pasted from above link. Any extra information gathered once the event goes live will be posted here in the OP in the form of quotes.

    ==== Notable Rewards ====

    • All Enemies
    • MAG -30%

    Halting Rumba
    • 4* Dancer Ability
    • All Enemies
    • Stop - 70% chance to land

    ==== Characters Required ====

    Vaan - Required for all bosses in Boss Rush. (Penelo is not required for anything)

    Seeking the Dawn Shard +: Vaan

    ==== Bonus Battles ====

    Seeking the Dawn Shard +

    • Mimic Queen (~100000 HP) Target Score: Vaan no KO, No KO
      • Weak - Ice
      • Absorb - Lightning
      • Vulnerabilities: Slow / Blind / Berserk
    • Demon Wall (~125000 HP) Target Score: Vaan no KO, No KO
      • Weak - Holy
      • Vulnerabilities: Slow / Blind
    • Belias (~130000 HP) Target Score: Vaan no KO, No KO
      • Weak - Water
      • Absorb - Fire
      • Resist - Everything else
      • Vulnerabilities: Slow

      Nothing remarkable about these bosses. Slow works on all of them, might as well bring it.

    Recommended abilities: Breakdowns, Steal Power
    Recommended RW: SG/SS2, Lunatic High, Boon

    Henne Mines ++

    Boss: Tiamat (~195600 HP)

    • Defeat Tiamat without being KO’d.
    • Exploit Tiamat’s weakness to earth attacks.
    • Afflict Tiamat with Slow.

      Typical hard hits, bring both physical and magic resists/breaks. Be wary of single target magical attacks, in his weak state (<75%) he is able to use counter-reflect when attacked with magic. Use that Quake!

    Weak: Earth
    Absorb: Wind
    Resist: Everything else

    Vulnerabilities: Slow / Stop

    Recommended abilities: Breakdowns, Quake, Dual Delay, Steal Power
    Recommended RW: Lunatic High, Boon, Sentinel’s Grimoire, Stoneskin

    Golmore Jungle +++

    Boss: Meltigemini (~202000 HP)
    Adds: Treant x2 (~36500 HP each)

    • Afflict Elder Wyrm with Silence
    • Exploit Elder Wyrm’s weakness to wind attacks.
    • Exploit Treant’s weakness to wind attacks.

      Silence does not prevent Elder Wyrm from using Fire Ball (Moderate to Heavy fire damage to all targets) or Sporefall (Confuse, Slow, Silence, Blind, and Poison all targets). He is able to start using these at ~75%. Try to land Silence during Normal phase so that you don’t get hit by the various status ailment spells.

      Dispel is also a good idea since the Treants love to buff Tiamat.

      Take down Treants ASAP so you can focus on the main objective. Make sure you Magic Breakdown the boss and use defensive RWs so you don’t get overwhelmed by Fire Ball. Once Elder Wyrm’s weak you want to kill him ASAP, you don’t want to be hit by Sporefall!

    Weak: Wind

    Elder Wyrm Vulnerabilities: Silence / Confuse
    Treant Vulnerabilities: Silence / Slow

    Recommended abilities: Breakdowns, Silence, AoE, Dispel
    Recommended RW: SG/SS2

    Betrayal 【Ultimate】

    Boss: Vossler (~224600 HP)
    Adds: Imperial Swordsman x2 (~49900 HP each)

    • Use Dispel.
    • Successfully use Black Magic against Vossler.
    • Afflict Imperial Swordsman with Slow.

      • Vossler starts the battle with Reflect
      • Vossler’s CT0 attacks (physical damage 2/3/4x and ignores Retaliate) target the member with the current highest HP%
      • Keep mitigation up at all times
      • He is able to counter magic attacks with Reflect on himself
      • Banishing Strike might be useful to help dispel his Haste, but doesn't count for the Dispel target score
      • Using Galuf's Invincibility RW can make the fight easier, it will cause the CT0 attacks to do 0 damage essentially if the character that used it has the highest HP
      • Vossler only uses physical attacks but the Imperial Swordsman are able to do water damage to everyone

    Vossler Vulnerabilities: None
    Imperial Swordsman: All except Petrify / Doom / KO / Berserk

    Recommended abilities: AoE, Protectga, Dispel, Power Breakdown, Steal Power, Draw Fire
    Recommended RW: SG/SS2, Unyielding Fist (Galuf)

    According to this guide

    So at the very least you have to slot in a black magic of some sort, dispel, and slow. Since Dispel / Slow aren't black magics, you're down 3 slots right off the bat >__>. Vossler can't even be slowed so it's a fairly useless waste of a slot right there.

    BLM you can just use Meteor since he has 2 adds

    Slow you can use Tempo Flurry, even if Vossler can't be slowed it can still do good DMG

    Fixed. Bleh that's lame, feels like a forced wasted ability slot then

    That ultimate is the first fight I've seen that doesn't have don't get KO'd medals so you could lose one person and still master.

    Huh, so she was. Didn't even think of that. I could've probably mastered one of my early S/Ls where someone died to Shock near the end lol.

    HH looks like the MVP RW for the ultimate, considering the adds can back to back to back water spout. Others on Reddit are claiming Galufs invincible SB will be most needed to survive Vossler's multihit ignore buffs move, but surviving P1 I think will be the real challenge.

    It doesn't ignore buffs, just retaliate. Galuf RW is not needed at all, it's just a way to cheese the fight as he will always target the same character (if done right) and hit for 0 damage. However he will likely kill that character as soon as the buff wears off unless you have native Wall.

    Oh, then lolcheese for retaliate, and shit like this makes me glad I got SG as my first char relic (I want to go back and slap my past self for bitching about getting it over enhancer/OWA back then).

    Oh great. Let's see how it goes. I may wait until Sundaily to go after Vossler.

    I'm thinking my party setup will be Vaan + Ashe + Lightning + Yuna + Y'shtola. I have synergy weapons (No relics boooo) so it should be fine.

    Vaan: Steal Power + Armor Breakdown, Double Hit or Thunderstroke
    Yuna: Curaja + Val
    Ysh: Dispel + something
    Ashe: Ruinga + Quake
    Light: Lifesiphon + something

    still debating my setup for this one. maybe it's time to combine those 3 gold armors I have to 7 star and slapping it on a paladin and trying to keep them topped on hp at all times (along with usual breakdowns/protect)

    can bring mog for heroic harmony too. I have three decent-ish melee weapons, but no natural 5 stars and I'm not drawing on these banners.

    My only other option is to bring Greg and have him Tauntaliate wearing the Gold Armor and defense accessories since he can equip spears but then I lose out big time on damage potential with Lightning and I can't afford to replace Vaan.

    Biggest issue I've seen with Vossler is that he likes to Counter Reflect immediately after being hit by magic like 90% of the time, so casting Dispel is merely a formality for medals.

    he gives himself a haste buff as well that's not considered magic so you'd probably want dispel for that anyway.

    This may be the second [U] I bring P. Cecil to. He's getting some mileage I guess.

    My suggestion would be to give Vaan Tempo Flurry and then give Ysh Armor Breakdown. Give Lightning Dismissal maybe?

    Why do you hate Steal Power so much? Drop PBD on Vaan and give him Steal Power!

    Good idea. It gives Vaan some damage potential and gives Yshtola something to do.
