Leaning towards moon too but gonna need to see the version exclusives.
I just buy them based on the cooler looking dude on the box.

So my 3DS is still able to QR inject pokemon, but my Pokebank ID has expired and it's forcing me to update to get into it. I went to go see where I was in terms of building an "Egg Move" dex (Max IV and with all egg moves available) and I'm entirely finished with Gen III and most legendaries. Sadly, I stopped a minute ago and wasn't able to finish gen IV and some special shinies I wanted. My box space is limited, and without pokebank I can't store more than halfway through Gen V on my AS/Y carts. What do?
It's a 5 minute long Direct today
Worldwide release date -- Holiday 2016!
needs more Engrish.
I guess they're updating Red, Blue, and Yellow instead of just bringing them to the eShop unchanged?
Unchanged? You can now use the pokemon bank to transfer pokemon to Sun & Moon.
If you go into the eshop on the nds it shows screenshots from the originals unchanged and the description pretty much says they are unchanged with some minor exceptions to bring them up to speed with trading and Internet.
It basically changed my mind from wanting to replay red, but I might yellow still. It looks so shitty.
Not really, Gen III was where they did some major (for a pokemon game) tweaks to the game. That's when the introduced natures and (actually) split special into special attack and defense. If I'm not mistaken, the cap on EVs was also very different in Gen I and II. Unless they're just going to rely on voodoo math when you transfer, that's no small change.
The real question that needs to be answered now is what happens when Missing# makes his way into the pokebank. >.>;
Anyways, so hyped for this announcement, on top of the monthly Mythic Pokemon plush releases, Pokken Tournament, Pokemon Go, and the 20th Anniversary 3DS coming out tomorrow... It is a great year to be a Pokemon trainer!
Pokemon year 2000 is bestest!
I haven't touched pokemon since ~2003 with the ruby/sapphire versions. Has anything drastically changed since then aside from the updated visuals? I kinda want to get back into this. I'll probably have to play the other games to see the evolution I guess.... ?_?
A lot has changed, but the premise stays the same. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire would probably be the best jump in point, as they're remakes of Gen 3 but almost all of the X/Y changes are added as well.
Tempted to get Yellow now that I know it's use able with pokebank. Might nab it when I figure out where to stash 200 QR coded egg move pokemon with a half full PC.
