Can I invite a friend (via mogstation scheme), he makes an account and he gets 14 days trial?

Wasn't sure if the invite a friend only applies to them buying the game or something or does it give them a free trial regardless.

Ideally he gets hooked and pays and I have my mounts. lol

he doesn't want to spend any money until he is sure. i made him aware of the level 20 cap etc

I believe how it works is the Friend Code can only be applied in the month between them purchasing the game and their first subscription payment, so they could take the free trial, decide if they want to continue, and then if they do apply the code after purchasing the game.
