    • Hit the Emperor with Magic Breakdown.
    • Afflict the Emperor with Slow.

When he first crosses the 50% health mark he will heal to full. Most of his attacks are magic based, he's able to use buffs like Haste and Wall so bring some form of Dispel. He's also able to do an AoE Slowga.

    Vulnerabilities: Slow / Stun

Recommended abilities: Dispel / Banish Raid, defensive Breakdowns, Shellga

      • Weak - Poison
      • Absorb - Lightning
      • Vulnerabilities: Poison / Blind / Stun

    • Afflict Ice Gigas with Slow.
    • Exploit Fire Gigas’s weakness to ice attacks.
    • Afflict Thunder Gigas with Blind.

      • AoE Dismiss can be very helpful
      • You might want to focus fire down the Ice/Fire Gigas first in order to lessen the incoming damage
      • Keep up defenses at all times, you'll be getting hit a lot
      • Blinding them is another way to reduce incoming damage, they have both physical and magic attacks
      • All of them have the same ability to counter with - Boulders 9 (Counter): Deal moderate special ranged physical damage to one target.
      • When they are in their Weak state (75% HP?) they gain the ability to hit a single target 2-5 times for "special" damage.

Recommended abilities: Protectga, Shellga, Magic Breakdown, Blindga, Tempo Flurry / Slowga
Recommended RW: Mighty Guard, SG/SS2, Hastega RWs, Boon

I dunno, but thankfully Firion is the only required part as I only have Ricard and Josef leveled.

Yes, I will likely do + and ++ for MC2 then back Orbfest until this phase ends.

    Emperor drops Major Power Orbs.

    Used starfall once.

Triple Gigas doesn't seem very daunting. Did a very weak dry run before having to S/L because I forgot a Magic BD on the fire Gigas and Yshtola took a fireball to the face. Took the ice one down in about 3 turns. Fire was halfway dead.

Mastered after a few S/L's. Could have improved my set-up a lot, but I got so far on my dry run that I didn't want to waste the stamina since it looked like a win. Leon ate a late attack and died, but otherwise went fine. Boon was my RW.

Lost 1 medal for damage and 1 for actions, so whatever they changed it helps. Took a lot of damage in the last 2 rounds and hung on with Bio Strike.

Forgot to bring Firion to ++. And then couldnt get slow or blind to land. =/

  13. #13

Yeah, I had to reset on Manticores because shit wouldn't land, either.

Emperor was just drawn out because I have pitiful synergy. Gigas are looking to be that way, too.

just had to reset on emperor because he used Starfall 5 times, including 3 in a row.

  15. #15

Yeah, there's no real trigger to it. Pray for RNG. My win had 4 casts.

Thanks, that actually fills me with confidence and I had been dreading that Gigas fight due to general lack of AoE and no synergy other than exactly what you had. But it seems like I should be fine looking at your set-up, especially as the game has decided to throw Dismissal relics at me recently (4 unique in last 5 draws) so I can probably abuse that.

gotta get lucky with emperor. i had 3 back to back casts in a couple of runs. none on my winning run.

the 3 gigas is quite a fun battle. the initial stage is the hardest but it slowly eases up. unless you have supreme synergy gear and awesome SBs, i dont recommend trying to AoE them down - that just makes the fight a whole lot harder.

My strat was 2 healers, 2 spellbladers and a sam for yukikaze.
i had Aerith for PP, Mog for HH (later on in the fight) and both spammed heals pretty much.
-ga tier spellblades take down the fire gigas pretty quickly (and multihit SBs if you have), then the ice, and then thunder. Slow down if needed to buff up after the 1st one is down. they're a lot more manageable that way. Once they go <50% you should finish them off faster.. Especially the stupid Thunder Gigas with the Counter AoE Boulders.

Also, RES gear helps a lot for survival

Just kill them in order. The fire is the easiest to take down, followed by the slowed Ice, then the blinded Thunder. From personal experience I'd stay away from AoE attacks unless it kills one. The counters can be brutal.

    My setup:
Quistis (MG), Magic BD + Ruinga
Firion (Masamune), LS + Pound, Ace Striker
Yuna (Hymn), Arise + Curaja, MND+
Vaan (nothing useful), Thief's Raid + Flurry, Pride of RW
Rinoa (wishing star), Meteo + Blizzaja, Doublecast

    RW: SG

For what it's worth, Rinoa's doublecasting basically made the Fire Gigas disappear in a matter of turns. The hard part was building SBs and blinding the Thunder or keeping the Ice slowed. In retrospect, I only took Arise for the lulz but I would substitute Slowga if I did it again. I wouldn't bother bringing Vaan and would bring Lightning or Squall or Cloud (I was trying to avoid overkill) and only brought Firion because Synergy + SSB made the Thunder Gigas die faster.

Once again, the Ultimate wasn't difficult... I just found myself trying to make it that way so that I could actually be challenged. It's legit hard not to mow over these things with the relics I've pulled.

Didn't lose a single medal in the ultimate... they were very generous on the damage taken medals for this. Almost killed the ice gigas w/ aoe before Rinoa got enough SB guage to use angel wing quake.
