I need more FLCL in my life
It was an anime that made fun of other anime but had it's own plot. People don't get the jokes in it unless they have been watching anime for a really looooong time. (Like me) I personally loved it and think it was one of the best OVA's ever produced. I thought it was funny but my sense of humor is weird.
I will give the sequel a chance but there is no way they are going to capture the magic that made the original great.
It was a very sweet coming of age story beneath the meddling retarded hands of those who took part in creating it, it wasn't some subversive anime. Like honestly one of the best coming of age anime out there despite the madness it finds itself trapped within.
FLCL was imo a fluke being great in spite of it's creators. I can only see a horrific disaster coming from FLCL2 as it doubles up on absurdity and fan service.
FLCL was good at the time because its outrageousness was novel. Now that brand of self-aware outrageousness is a terrible trope (one of the cancers plaguing anime, if you will.)
I also predict that this will not end well.
If they wanna make more "edgy" shit just give me more mawaru penguindrum crap that isnt a pedophile bear
All I remember about FLCL was it made fun of NGE a lot.
Guitars, eyebrows, and irons. That was FLCL in a nutshell.
The hell anime does it make fun of now? NGE parody isn't gonna have the same effect now.
I didn't realise people who didn't like FLCL could even exist.
Sorry we have taste.
tell me more titty monster anime avatar.
Don't blame me, blame the jews.
