This five episode series covers the life of Noctis and his closest friends, Ignis, Gladiolus, and Prompto, from childhood to adulthood. There will be lighthearted moments, such as the group enjoying themselves while eating some hamburgers, as well as more dire moments where the group fights soldiers and monsters.

Each of the five episodes of Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV will be available for free on YouTube. They’re ten minutes each and feature Japanese voice acting. The first and last episodes will both tie into the Final Fantasy XV Platinum demo released tonight and address Noctis’ injury.

Quite a surprise when I saw this on CR's simulcast list when I woke up. I wonder why they went with A-1 & traditional animation instead of doing CGI animation like they've done in the past.

Recall that Enix had a thriving animation department long before the 2003 merger. They're responsible for Fullmetal Alchemist. Madhouse helped them with the LO:FF7 OVA. Looks like a very similar style.

MAL says it was A1 Pictures. So yeah it seems like the budget was elsewhere.

Was surprised to see this anime up today too. Even though the animation is low quality, do you think it's the best FF anime to date? (Mind you the bar is really, really low here lol).

I like this, the fight scene felt like the demo fights! And they got the bro feeling down rather fast.

Also, I found FF unlimited trash too. Annoying children, and a guy that can only fire one shot to turn the tide of battle. The formula was too repetitive.

I liked it. I didn't mind the animation and the fight scene really did feel like the demo. When are the next few episodes uploaded?

As release date is September I would imagine it'd be monthly leading up to the release, as there is 5 eps.

I'm ok with that, add it to the list of things to treat myself to each month. It's free and easily accesible, so not complaining.

Episode 2 was actually pretty nice. I hope there's some connection story-wise in the game even if it's a small little nod to the story and it wasn't just added on afterwards as an afterthought.
