Kinda hated it.... Was the comic like this?

    Spoiler: show
I mean, Joker shot batgirl just like that, and batman is just like, "it's cool, lemme try to help u, bro".....

After all the brainwashing shit done to Gordon, and he was just fine....?

And Joker shoots Barbara in the stomach, but already knew she'd just be crippled? I mean it was a gut shot, and he left her there....

Preface this with, it's been years since I read the Killing Joke..

    Spoiler: show
In the original material, I don't think Joker knows he's leaving Barbara paralyzed -- rather, his goal is to hurt her so he can take pictures to break Gordon. In regard to your question though, yeah, that's a big part of it. Joker believes that he is what he is because of a bad day (or bad sequence of events), and if anyone else is put in a similar position, they'd end up the same way. However, even with the shit Joker does, Gordon doesn't break. In the comic (and again, it's been years, so maybe I'm wrong), I feel they do a better job pointing out that Gordon didn't snap and Joker wasn't right.

Also, in regards to the Batgirl lead up..
    Spoiler: show

If they wanted to build her up and not just make her a device to move the plot along, they should have made her a capable hero on her own. At the minimum, they could have kept the weird stalker story, had her exploit his arrogance and obsession so it shows her skill, cut out the sex scene, cut out her quitting as Batgirl, and then keep everything the same. Then, you have a sense of Batgirl is a capable hero in her own right, and Joker crippling her has weight beyond just being a device to move along the plot. Would also need some follow up scenes though..

Saw it on the big screen tonight. Thought it was solid overall, there were some mixed feelings in our group of 5, but mostly positive.

He definitely did. The metaphor about the book spine, about her not walking again, etc. are right out of the comic. Tbh I thought it was weird when I originally read it as well.

Saw it last night, was alright. Having never read it before, the abrupt ending kinda left me wanting, but overall it was ok. I miss Hamill, and I wasn't expecting bat people sex to happen either.

Said damn near the same exact shit. The first act was atrocious and the wifey was even more mad about it lol. It's patronizing to state the added of Barbara was to make her stronger when it was the exact opposite.

Meh, Astyll and I both had no issues with it. Both of us enjoyed the hell out of it. I can listen to Mark Hamill's joker all day. Book was still fresh in our minds as I bought it for her for Christmas last year.

Wasn't bad. Batman's art style bothered the shit out of me. The musical bit was so awkward, and the abrupt ending felt a little unsatisfying.

    Spoiler: show
Joker paralyzes your best friend's daughter, who you really care for, but hey let's just laugh it up with the guy at the end. All fun and games rite?

I think that's the whole point of the movie. He's been pushed so far that the only thing that matters is dealing with the Joker, but doing so goes against his code. He keeps looking for a way out, and the Joker almost feels the same, but then again he would rather prefer insanity to reality. Plus that joke was delivered pretty good lol.

Adam West, Burt Ward, Julie Newmar return for animated Batman movie

Holy nostalgia, Batman! The caped crusader is returning to his 1960s television roots in a new animated feature film Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, featuring the voices of Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar.

In the exclusive trailer, which you can see above, Batman and Robin are seemingly on their way to a fiery death when the news that a new animated feature is on the way sparks a brilliant escape plan. West’s Batman also teases the film’s villains, including the Joker, Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman.

The classic Batman television series, which ran from 1966 to 1969, saw West’s Batman and Ward’s Robin face off against such villains as Newmar’s iconic Catwoman.

Fans can follow the bat signal to their favorite online and retail stores for Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and DC Entertainment, when it’s released for Digital HD on Oct. 11 and Blu-Ray on Nov. 1.
