FFRK - Sketching Miracles (FF6) Event & Strats

Before I start, big thanks to Aerin for all the work you have done making these event threads! They have helped a ton and provided a great place to read up on event info. I'll try to format these similar to yours so it doesn't seem like a huge change.

    Event Start Date: April 11
    Event Bonus Battles: April 14
    Event End Date: April 21

Well folks, this will (I think?) be our last event with the current format. Next event will be a new difficulty tier and feature a new event format.

All Information is taken from a mixture of Reddit/Spreadsheets/Kongpakbao Site.

Most, if not all info for the event (Commentary/Ultimate Abilities was directly copy/pasted from it, so all credit to the site for that especially!) comes from this site: http://ffrk.kongbakpao.com/relm-event/

    • Orthros
      HP: ~93400.
Target Score: Defeat Orthros without being KO'd, Afflict Orthros with Blind.
      • Weak: Fire/Lightning
      • Absorbs: Water
      • Vulnerabilities: Blind/Sap/Interrupt
    • Orthros & Typhoon
      HP: ~87000 & ~71200.
Target Score: Defeat Orthros without being KO'd, Win before Typhoon uses Snort.
      • Weak: Fire/Lightning (Orthros) & Ice/Water (Typhoon)
      • Absorbs: Water (Orthros) & Fire (Typhoon)
      • Vulnerabilities: Blind/Interrupt (Orthros) & Silence/Blind/Interrupt (Typhoon)

    Commentary
Orthros: Reduce its magic with Magic Break(down) and he should be harmless. Exploit weakness for a quick kill.
Orthros & Typhoon: Use AoE for efficient damage. Or exploit their weaknesses for a fast kill. Kill Typhon ASAP so that you’re not vulnerable to Snort.

Recommended abilities: defensive Breakdowns, spellblades, etc
    Recommended RW: Any

    TOTAL medals = 30 medals
, meaning you can only lose a max of 5 medals to get Mastery.

    Possession of a Soul ++
Wrexsoul (Assisted by 2 Soul Savers)
    HP: ~135700 (Wrexsoul) & ~48300 (Soul Saver)
    Target Score:
    • Defeat Wrexsoul without being KO'd.
    • Reduce Wrexsoul's Magic.
    • Exploit Wrexsoul's weakness to Ice attacks.

    Weak:Ice
    Absorb: Fire/Holy
Vulnerabilities: Blind/Interrupt (Wrexsoul), Confuse/Slow/Blind/Petrify/Doom/KO/Berserk/Interrupt (Soul Savers)

    Commentary
Carbuncle and Runic Blade are hard counters so if you have access to either one then half the battle is won. Ignore the Soul Savers and focus your attacks on Wrexsoul. If he possesses someone just have everyone attack themselves, healing where necessary.

Recommended abilities: Carbuncle, Protectga, Power/Magic Break(down)
Recommended RW: SG/SS2, Mighty Guard (VIII), Runic Blade, etc

Total medals = 18, meaning you can only afford to lose 3 medals to get Mastery.

    Young Dreams +++
    Hidon & 4x Erebus
    HP: ~205700 (Hidon) & ~34800 (4x Erebus)
    Target Score:
    • Defeat Hidon without being KO'd.
    • Exploit Hidon's weakness to Holy attacks.
    • Defeat Hidon before he uses Grand Delta.

    Weak: Fire/Earth/Holy (Hidon), Fire/Holy (Erebus1), All (Erebus2), Earth (Erebus3), None (Erebus4).
Absorbs: Poison (Hidon), Poison (Erebus1), None (Erebus2), None (Erebus3), All except Earth (Erebus4).
    Vulnerabilities: Slow/Interrupt (Hidon), Paralyze/Slow/Stop/Blind/Interrupt (Erebus1), All except Petrify/KO/Doom/Sap/Interrupt (Erebus2), Poison/Silence/Paralyze/Slow/Stop/Blind/Interrupt (Erebus3), Poison/Paralyze/Blind/Berserk/Interrupt (Erebus4).

    Commentary
Draw Fire + Retaliate should nullify all incoming physical attacks, especially from the Erebus. Reduce Hidon’s magic with Magic Breakdown, and tank your party up with Shellga and/or other forms of mitigation. Ignore the Erebus and just aim at Hidon. This way you do not need to worry about Hidon’s Grand Delta at all since he only gains that ability when all the Erebus are defeated.

Recommended abilities: Draw Fire + Retaliate
    Recommended RW: SG/SS2

Total medals = 18, meaning you can only afford to lose 3 medals to get Mastery.

    Charming Demon (U)
    Chadarnook
    HP: ~280500
    Target Score:
    • Hit Goddess form with Holy attacks.
    • Reduce Chadarnook's magic.
    • Defeat Chadarnook before she uses Poltergeist three times.

    Weak: Holy
Absorbs: Water (Goddess), Everything but Fire/Holy (Demon)
    Vulnerabilities: Interrupt

    Abilities
    Goddess

Attack: Deal physical damage to one target.
    Entice: Confuse all targets.
    Lullaby: Sleep all targets.
Entice (Counter): Confuse all targets. (trigger: non-holy attacks)
Lullaby (Counter): Sleep all targets. (trigger: non-holy attacks)

    ► Demon (Normal)

Attack: Deal physical damage to one target.
Attack: Deal physical damage four times to one target.
Thundaga: Deal heavy lightning damage to all targets.
Flash Rain: Deal heavy water damage to all targets.
Thundaga (Counter): Deal lightning damage to one target (trigger: magic attacks)
Drain (Counter): Deal heavy dark damage and drain HP (trigger: physical attacks)

    ► Demon (Weak)

Attack: Deal physical damage to one target.
Thundaga: Deal heavy lightning damage to all targets.
Thundaja: Deal very heavy lightning damage to one target.
Flash Rain: Deal water damage to all targets.
Poltergeist: Deal massive lightning damage and Sap all targets.
Thundaga (Counter): Deal lightning damage to one target (trigger: magic attacks)
Drain (Counter): Deal heavy dark damage and drain HP (trigger: physical attacks)

    Commentary
    GODDESS FORM:

no longer switches to Demon form randomly, instead it will switch form after receiving holy damage, this damage can be either magical or physical.
uses Entice once every three turns, after which Chadarnook will switch to Demon form.
Soul Breaks and attacks from Retaliate does not trigger Goddess’s counters.
Shares health pool with Demon form.

    DEMON FORM:

no longer switches to Goddess form after receiving 5 turns of damage, instead it will switch form after it takes 5 turns.
immune to physical attacks initially, but this immunity is removed when it receives holy magic damage.
once the physical immunity is removed for the first time, it is removed for the rest of the fight.
once Chadarnook reaches 50% HP, it will no longer switch to Goddess Form, and it will enter its Weak state.

One good tip I would share is to count Demon form’s actions. Remember that after its fifth action, it will switch to Goddess form, be careful not to queue any attacks that will trigger Goddess’s counters.

Keep Demon form’s magic reduced at all times and with enough mitigation, surviving shouldn’t be a problem.

Recommended abilities: Shellga, Magic Breakdown, holy magic and/or physical attacks
    Recommended RW: SG/SS2

Total medals = 18, meaning you can only afford to lose 3 medals to get Mastery.

If you go Mage pt like I semi plan for this boss, instead of just waiting when she switch the goddess.

Just use holy attacks on goddess that way she won't counter and use fire attacks on demon

Also I dunno if I read it incorrectly but

From how I read the demon weakness you seem to imply he's weak to everything except fire/holy

While he Is weak to fire/holy

Its listed next to absorb, he absorbs everything but fire/holy.

Also if you go mage party, you still will want to count turns so you don't have a fire spell midcast when she switches to Goddess form, otherwise she'll counter with Lullaby or Entice.

That 4* white magic. R5 Arisen = the new Curaga? I mean, it does the exact same thing(and I still use Curaga anyway) except have the bonus effect of being able to revive people as well.

If you're gonna use orbs to hone a 4* WHM cure you should hone Curaja instead.

It's R3 already, and I never use it. I still use R5 Curaga.

The new 4* heal seems terrible. Reviving someone with 10% hp is not very helpful considering the probability of them getting hit with an AoE attack before the healer gets another turn to heal that person up is very high on ultimate fights, and most lower level content has no-KO conditions that won't reset even with a revive. It just ends up being a curaga that eats 4 star orbs instead of 3 star ones

Going to preemptively suggest using a Crushing Blow RW for the Erebus fight. If it's like the dungeon version, one of the adds will absorb lightning, so you technically can't kill them all to instigate its bad move. With 3/4 down, incoming damage will subsequently be not that big a deal. Will be putting my Zantetsuken on Lightning once the event rolls around if anyone wants it as an option.

I'd take Curaja to 5* over this new one.

I read the description as a raise AND curaga-level heal, but if it's just a Curaga OR a Raise... Yeah.

Thinking about pulling on that 2nd banner for Excalibur. everything else on there is worthless (for me, outside of 6*ing maduin horn) but having an Excalibur would be really nice right now. Banner 1 is obviously stronger (Relm and Shadow are both best in slot SSBs), but Celes is taunting me with her Wai-Fu moves

I already have Yuna and Lenna's regen/cure SBs so I'm leaning more towards a banner 2 pull for Celes even though Shadow's SSB looks really sweet.

    But, black power day.

I'm actually doing dungeon update now, will probably do event tonight, dailies for the rest of the week, and resume event on saturday.

Will probably do 1-2 pulls for Celes, and then 1-2 pulls on Basch and then everything after goes towards next celebration. Basically using the reset to get a "free" pull on 1 of the 2 banners there.

Question about Chadarnook...does the form change trigger with holy MAGIC damage or any holy damage (i.e Saint's Cross)?

Any holy damage can change form, but you will NEED to do holy MAGIC to negate his physical immunity(once).

So I don't have nearly enough Fire and Non Elemental magic to go mage meta for ultimate. Thinking the following setup.

    Lenna: Curaja/Shellga
Terra: Firaja/Firaga with Blood of the Espers RM
Yuna: Diaga/Valefor with a holy damage boost RM
Cloud: Lifesiphon/Draing Strike Ace Striker RM
Sazh: Full Break/Magic Breakdown with Dr. Mog RM

Sounds like selphie rm3 would come in handy for this fight as an alternative to bringing some form of dia. I would imagine knight with saint's cross and a boost would still damage cap on sc regardless of the RM equipped due to the holy weakness.

    Going meta here:

    Terra
    Rinoa
    Yuna
    Quistis
    Lulu

    And saying bye-bye Chadarnoob.
