There hasn't been an official post on the Loadstone, so I am unable to answer if it's real or in-game. Only the PAX site & SE's press release contain the available information.

So, in the panel session a lot of questions were kinda crappy but they did give out some news. They have confirmed that they are STILL working on bocos whilst queuing, along with allowing us to take em in dungeons. There will be a new app too, which will allow you to chat offline with FC/LS and do things like deal with retainers. Probably for the expansion.

Big news is the new Deep Dungeon called Palace of the Dead. Will allow you to go in solo or with up to 4 people. Will have it's own levelling system and ilevel doesn't come into it. You start at level 1 and progress is saved every few levels. There are bosses every few levels too. They intend to have a competitive element to it later to see how far individual jobs can get solo. You will be buffed up from items in the dungeon but you can also be debuffed. The maps will be randomly generated. There will also be random buffs/debuffs on floors.There will be save points and they're going to add more floors later. Basically if you've played it think FFXI Nyzul Isle type system. This is coming in 3.35.

For Deep Dungeon, rotate the 2010 version a few times and there's your randomly generated map.

Nyzul I believe had ... 8 variations? But at least floor objectives and different "panels" in maze areas kept it somewhat interesting lol

But ilvl doesn't matter? So this can't even be classified as endgame then, just a ... side activity

The fact that ilvl (and thus, gear) will play no part makes it sound like just another mini-game.
