know a lot of critics complained the film was entirely an empty calorie metajoke, even bemoaned the writers trying to add emotional stakes, but found the scene this plays in ('is this heaven?' 'it is now.') genuinely moving. hell it hit me harder than anything in Infinity War (aided by Baccarin and Reynolds having stupid good chemistry). know the primary appeal of the film is winks and baby leg jokes but found it p interesting they went with

a suicidal Deadpool condemned to life attempting to find meaning by saving a child after losing his unborn one.

didn't lose any of the action or humor of the first but added a surprisingly tragic arc that worked out p well. never thought a Deadpool film would make me feel feelings. 3.5/5 fourth wall breaks.

Saw it, enjoyed it as much if not more than the first one. I'm more a mindless movie watcher than a critic anyway but yah, great movie.

The emotional stakes were so much more true to the comics than the first one. The thing about Deadpool has always been that behind the jokes and fourth wall breaks his life is TERRIBLE and his story is a relentless tragedy. His latest series ended with him willingly destroying all memories of his wife, daughter, and time as an Avenger rather than deal with the agony of how one at a time he had failed all of them.

If you want to see a little kid who REALLY makes you hate the shit out of them, go see A Wrinkle in Time.

The kid was actually a comic character. Firefist was the hero name of Russell "Rusty" Collins, whom some of you might remember from Skids & Rusty during the 80s/90s. That was the joke with Shatterstar about "Rusty is a terrible name."

Saw it and loved it. At this point I'd much rather see the next movie be a full blown X-Force flick than DP3. Domino, Cable were fantastic and I'd also love more screen time of Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead and her gf (who's name escapes me)
