No, that's a terrible idea.

So basically Windows 7 doesn't recognize SSD's right? How can I force it to do that?
My next step is to use the official Windows tool to make a bootable USB this time. I didn't have my win7 product key yesterday.
I'm gonna go enjoy July 4th and deal with this tomorrow.
Windows 7 recognizes SSD's just fine, I've never had the problem you're having. But yes, try the official MS tool.
Does anyone have a Windows 7 iso? My version was preloaded on the HDD I bought so I can't get the official iso from Microsoft. I went to a few sites that aren't allowed and found a "clean" one on IPT but that was the one that didn't work.

This seems legit but I'm never sure with this stuff.
I have one and can give you an FTP link if you want. It's on my home machine though so my upstream isn't killer.
I have "unlocked" versions to 7 and 8.1 if those interest you also

Looking for advice as I contemplate a new build for 1-2 months from now.
I was planning on moving from 1080p to 1440p, and had though I'd likely go with a GTX 1070 and a gsync monitor. But I was just gifted a lightly used Dell U2711 monitor (27", 1440p, 60hz, IPS). It was an $800 monitor when new, but obviously it isn't new technology at this point at ~5 years old. That makes the cost of a new monitor ($500+) far less attractive. (It's also heavy as hell but that's besides the point.) So my question is would a current-gen gsync monitor really offer any significant advantage to justify the pricetag?
I found the official MS release and tool so I'm reformatting my USB at work
Gonna try again tonight x_X
What would you like to see in particular? I'll post whatever you like.
....and some guy just paid $227.50 for my used 970. Are people fucking insane?
I just realized, we're not friends on Steam so I have no idea what games you have! Add me: Kalmado07. After I see what you have I'll have some requests. I know you have Division so that would def be a good one. At 4k Ultra but low shadows and what not, my benches were:
R9 270x: 18.9
Xfire: 23.8
GTX 680 2gb: 21.1
I can't find where I benched single/xfire 390x.
Ok, invite sent. When I get home, I'll see about running some Division benches.
*edit* Won't be able to do 4k though, I'm still @ 1440p.
That's fine. Division is demanding so it will give us a good gauge at what the 1070 can do!
I'm giving my old tower/mobo/cpu away to a buddy to force him to play games with me :D
