Thanks, but I think it was the order of the posts that did it.

Looks like the cheapest full size Ducky is around $160.

I use a G.Skill KM780 with cherry mx reds and I love it. I think I paid $60 or so for it. Been using it for three years now and I won't be changing until it stops working. I love the layout, response, and the volume wheel. It has some very unneeded handles on the sides. I too am cramped for room (keyboard pullout) so it sits a little off to the side. Still, absolutely love it.

My wife uses a Corsair with reds. I used it for a brief time but prefer the G.Skill overall. I just can't get away from that volume wheel life.

I can't even use a baby keyboard like that, I use a left handed mouse and use the number pad for movement/etc in games.

Hah, if you tried it you would instantly realize the difference in quality. Going from Membrane > Mechanical > Great Mechanical are all instantly noticeable jumps.

I don’t doubt the quality, it just seems so hilariously small, how do you even push f5

TKL isn't even close to the "small" ones that the hardcore people build.

Edit: Killing the embeds, the images were huge lol.

I got a ducky about 6 years ago. Still working like a beast and the best keyboard I've ever had.

I think you guys are right about the Ducky. And since my G15 lasted me 11 years I don't see why I couldn't do that again.

    Was looking at these:

Ducky One 2 Double shot full-size

Ducky One 2 TKL midsize - still has delete, home, end, etc. and arrow keys.

Ducky One 2 SF - has arrow keys compact and only del, pg up, pg dn

I can see getting rid of the num pad once I go back to working from my office. Not sure I can lose arrow keys though as I use them to scroll through shit.

I have a white version of your middle link, TKL midsize, and it is fantastic. I got Blue switches in that one. If you like a really “clicky” sound, I suggest those.

Also, if you really need a numpad you can get one for like $10 on Amazon and connect it only when needed.

Edit: it’s in stock, if you prefer white:

Also can check out wasd keyboards. Decent options for form factors, switches, and key caps. They are a little bit more expensive though. I'm pretty happy with my v2.

I haven't used a modern mechanical keyboard so I don't know exactly which switch I'd prefer.

Need to do black or I'll drive myself crazy. Black case, black monitors, black mouse, white keyboard would make me uncomfortable.

Wasd is outside my price range atm.

    Intel woo

Intel Core i9 10900-series, will require a lot of power and will run really hot. We already shared some power states last week, and they have been confirmed to be 170W (P1) and 224W (P2) under maximum conditions. So your average TDP under all-core load looks to be 170W whereas P2 is an absolute top thermal threshold.
I've also heard the new 10th gen laptop i9 will go up to 135W

Is a 2060 good enough to run 1080p at 144hz frame rates?

    For what games?

Generally it would be a maybe. My laptop has a 2080 Max-Q which is just slightly stronger then a desktop 2060, and I can run games like DMC 5 and Doom Eternal at Max settings at 1080p with 140 fps (I cap it there for gsync reasons).

Ass Creed Odyssey with a few settings turned down is in the 80-90 range, Monster Hunter World Iceborne maxed out was generally in the same range tho I cap it at 60 for consistency. Gears 5 on max I wanted to say was also floating around 90. I'd expect 80ish to be your average floor for AAA titles, with well optimized games making it up to the 140+ range.

Possibly consider the 5700(XT) as well since AMD took care of the early driver issues. The 2060 and 5700 are very close to the same price. While not the same cards, Hardware Unboxed just yesterday compared the 5700 XT to the 2060 SUPER with the former being roughly 18% faster/better as well as cheaper. Video below. The 5700 has an easy time being flashed to a XT as well so, free performance.

Every video I've watched is still showing that to be true. I really wish I had a chance to get a 5700 or XT because the performance to price just seems crazy.
