I got 2 ampere with 0 effort, so I wasn't expecting zen 3 to be hard to get at all. Maybe week 1 and that is it?
Scratch that, I misread lol.
I already got 2 Ampere's through eVGA's queue, was literally like the first on the list for both ultras and got them in the "test" batches. One for me and hooked up a friend. Will probably be first again once they get to the non-ultra XC3 models if someone (whom I've heard of) wants it for MSRP
If it’s an XC3 gaming, i’ll probably take it. Best Buy has a first come first serve thing going on in their online orders with the FE. I’m fucking tired of this at this point, i got no queues for EVGA pop up for me yet, but it’s nice it’s working.
Yeah your chances of getting an FE for MSRP at this point are practically 0.
Figured it sounded like a good time to start looking into upgrading older tech, and the last laptop specific thread was 2 posts long from a year ago.
Have not had a laptop in a while, though for right now it seems a more functional solution than rebuilding my PC from scratch simply for the mobility. I am assuming most are designed with a standard baseline in mind regarding daily tasks and even light to medium video/audio editing, but I would appreciate something that can handle gaming and emulators without stress. Probably not modern PC gaming as I am more of a console person.
Not wanting to jump to Apple at all, so sticking to Windows. Trying not to jump above 1k, but would be much happier in the 800 range.

Is a very good option right at the 1k limit.
I've suggested it to friends and on here I think.
*sigh* nothing from evga queue yet, i’m never getting that 3080. i’m legit worried i’ll just have an x570 mobo collecting dust and not get a 5900X.
Which reminds me, am i supposed to get a bios update for the X570 to work with the Zen3 cpus or will they work right off the bat? Just because i just bought this mobo before the zen3 release.
Dude, I've already given up on getting a card in the next few months. I took the money I set aside for a card and a PS5, and just did some upgrades to my home theater system instead. I'm going to just give in to the 2020 fucks up everything.
I haven’t even bothered looking since week 1.
Man the numbers coming out for Zen 3 are big. Ocean big. I didn't expect them to so utterly shit on Intel but they have defied expectations.
I'm greatly excited about the laptop prospects for Zen 3 after years and years of Intel being the only real high end option and all the thermal throttling adventures that brings.
Ryzen mobile CPUs were already very very good, too bad it has been impossible to actually buy a laptop that has one
Oh yeah there's some great models out there, but I don't think there is a single one that offers higher then a 2060.
Be nice to hopefully see Zen 3 plus 3070/3080 pairings come next year instead of another year of thermonuclear Intel's throttling the rest of the computer with their heat output.
and Intel's last bastion falls. hopefully they wake up and redesign their tired architecture in a hurry.
Reports are the 20gb 3080 has been cancelled.
Granted I have no clue who would be a reliable source on it, just randomly popped up on my news feed.
