Is pure sine wave a requirement for a UPS that'll be on a computer & monitor? I found a modified sine wave UPS on sale today but I'm seeing mixed information on how important that is for electronics.

If you're unsure if your equipment requires it, then you don't need it.
Are you doing work that absolutely cannot be lost in case of a power outage? Then no.
Unless your home has shit power that goes out often (Like almost every day), don't bother with a UPS. Get a surge protector if you really want to protect things, otherwise, you just have to power the device back on afterward.
Having lived back to back in NOLA and The Bay Area a UPS is absolutely essential for the shitty ass power companies in those areas.
That said, it's only real purpose is to protect my NAS, which is set to auto power off after the UPS has been running for 5 minutes.

Excellent deal if anyone is in the market for a high end laptop
If that was 17' screen, i would have bought that for the wife.
Too bad Newegg has turned into such a garbage company. I'd see if best buy has that model and price match it just to avoid dealing with newegg's horrible support

Thanks for the feedback on the UPS. I'm in a neighborhood that had issues during the summer because so many people got air conditioning in the past few years and the grid couldn't handle it. Also since I have FIOS the internet will keep working if I have the ONT powered.
Thinking about buying a prebuilt MSI desktop from Costco for $2550 after tax and shipping. Specs here - https://storage-asset.msi.com/specSh...11TD-232US.pdf
Would save me a drive (140 miles round trip) to Microcenter for the PowerSpec G469 posted in the Win thread. Costco is cheaper by $450 after taxes.
Spec difference is 11th Gen intel i7, 3070 & 2TB m.2 (Costco) vs 10th Gen intel i9, 3080Ti & 1tb m.2 (G469.) There's a $700 delta between an MSRP 3070 vs 3080Ti @ MSRP. And RAM would be a crapshoot between the two on frequency/timings.
Not planning to go 1440/4k for a bit. And I don't OC.
Thoughts? Sounds like if I buy the MSI I'm only paying for convenience while getting the PowerSpec I'm getting more bang for my buck.
If you are going to stay at 1080, it will do everything you want. I would personally go for the 3080Ti, but I like my 1440 res.
Ugh, the fact it's only $450 more to jump from a 3070 to a 3080ti makes it tempting if you only lived closer.
I'm honestly convincing myself the PowerSpec is worth the drive. Plus it likely has less bloat if any.
I'm assuming the Powerspec is Microcenter's brand? I'm actually not sure as the nearest Microcenter to me in the bay area is the one you'll be going to. If so, for sure it's going to have a lot less bloat. Looking at the MSI computers at Best Buy when I was browsing a few months ago, you were almost better off buying your own copy of Windows 10 and formatting the damn thing.
Tustin. Only one in So Cal.
Only one in California, period. Was hoping with Fry's going the way of the Dodo, they would expand a bit more out here.
I want to stay Intel/Nvidia. Got some windfall from work that the sticker shock of GFX prices doesn't sting as much right now. Still hate it though.
Tax refund time or when I get by beneficiary IRA RMD in May I could upgrade my monitor barring any surprise expenses.
