The 1070/1080 set is what I read that weren't going to be consumer grade but I'll check that source again.
At first, I was looking at the build and thinking why it had so much damn space but then realized you took out the drive bays lol
I can see the cosmos.
Nice build. I should take a picture of mine sometime. Though I'm a mess with cables.

maybe I should start trying to sell my 980ti now
After looking at the charts on website. It might actually be a sidegrade to the 980 ti or slight upgrade. Pretty disappointing.
Holding out for Nvidia HBM gpu or 1080 ti
Early (pre-driver optimized) benchmark results put it at stronger than 2 GTX 980 in SLI. Want one bad to replace my 780s but I'll have to save up, no one's going to buy these old things now.
Also worth noting: you are not going to notice a difference between GDDR5X and HBM memory
2nd thing you posted shows $699 not $599
Yea the $699 price is for the nVidia Founders version or w/e, basically it has a special cooler on it and looks different than the normal reference model which is $599
Wow the 1080 is fucking ridiculous
Well now I HAVE to upgrade everything.
Looks pretty sick. I might have to replace my 970.
The thing that blows my mind the most about the 1080 isn't the price or overall performance, it's that it does all that from a single 8 pin.
Efficiency for the new architecture is thru the roof.
AMD gotta bring out the big guns or this wave easily belongs to Nvidia. Performance beating sli 980ti for around the price of one really makes me want to sell my 390x's for this.
where are you guys seeing those numbers? only chart I saw had it really good in VR and only 75% ish faster than 980 in regular gaming. 980 ti is like 30% faster than the 980.
edit: those werent even actual fps charts. they are "relative performance" charts on geforce website
Might have to get rid of my 970 too. While it's used I can probably ebay it as new in box - other since it and the box/packaging are in perfect condition. Used to do that every time a new card came out I'd ebay the old one the same week and do a swap.
Not sure I wanna spend the money on the 1080 but I was looking at a 980ti since I'll be going 3440 ultra wide or 1440p with high refresh rates. Might have to go 1080.
You should sell me that 970 with a BG discount. Yes? Yes?
Reference model too with the blower out the back of the case. Awesome for those with rotated and positive pressure cases like mine. Easy 300 ebay.
I was going to offer three nickels and a bent nail.
Shit.
