There is a massive improvement over 1000 series cards, but their "3070 is more powerful than a 2080 TI" ehhh...hold the brakes maybe.

I'll stand by slightly
But I expect the aib's to deliver. If I have to roll the strix though I might just pull the trigger on the 90. Or buy either and sell when ti hits.
I'm buying any model from any manufacturer I can get my hands on. I'll sort out the 5% difference in perf between models later when stock isn't a nightmare
I don't remember, how was Titan X supplies when it released? How was restock?
Has always been quite difficult to source a Titan, and I expect Ampere to be worse than previous generations due to world climate and general interest in this gen
So essentially, try to get 3090 next week or I'm not getting one for quite a long time?
I am going to be trying to snatch a 3080 tomorrow as a fallback, and will attempt to order a 3090 on the 24th. Worse comes to worse the 3080 is still fantastic til I can get my hands on a 3090, and if I do get my hands on a 3090 I can resell or return the 3080. I expect that it won't be easy to get any Ampere cards until next year at the earliest though
RDNA2 might make a small dent in the demand but unless AMD has a seriously big rabbit to pull out of their hat they are behind on software support by a considerable margin
The first rumors coming out for RDNA2 see the top end model being in line with the 3070 performance wise.
I mean, AMD has always been a performance per dollar type, pretty sure these prices are gonna be lower than the 3070.
EVGA cards just got listed in Best Buy’s site btw, i’m likely settling for the MSI Ventus as i have a 2080 Ventus atm, but any opinion on EVGA? Same price sorta, i have heard their customer service is phenomenal.
Spoiler: show
Woo, finally caught them in stock. They just popped back up on Newegg about 10m ago.
EVGA has some of the best warranties and they're still the only AIB that offers a step up program, so if you buy a 3080 and they come out with a 3080ti in the next year you can pay the difference and upgrade to it.
Anyone ever try and snag a card from microcenter?
I’ve never tried to get anything on release day from them. Was just hoping to reserve one online when/if they go live on the site

$1,799.99 for the ASUS STRIX 3090 fuggggg lol
Everything I've seen suggests they're suspending online sales for the 3000 series and will only be selling in store on release day

Q.) Will I be able to reserve or buy them online?
A.) We will not be offering reservations for in-store pick-up, or shipping for these video cards due to the high demand.
Evga has good customer support I guess if you have to deal with that kind of thing. An rma/return is the same everywhere. Otherwise asus/msi run the ship other aib's follow that evga in there somewhere towards the bottom and fe/reference at the bottom.
Shit. Looks like I'm gonna be building a new PC in the next few months, then. I'm still on a 6600k and 1070, so it should be a huge upgrade to do something like a 9700k and 3080.
