Real bad sign to embargo like that. Nevermind we saw how rough apex launch was before they realized it could print money, and I'm sure EA had respawn being just as frugal with this game. Cautiously pessimistic just to keep myself from being disappointed...

I don't actually think this is because they think the game will get poor reviews, I actually think it's just EA trying to sabotage this game again, like they did with the lackluster E3 presentation that wasn't representative of the game at all given what we've seen since. EA knows that a review day embargo will give a lot of bad press for the game and they are banking on it. Not to say I think this game is gonna be masterpiece, but everything they've shown since E3 has looked great.

Apex is the only critically good EA thing in awhile. Fifa and sims still print money tho

Honest question, but why would EA want to sabotage this game?

Cause this game is single player only, no multiplayer, no live service, no loot boxes, no reason for people to keep paying them after the initial purpose which is what EA is all about these days. It also makes the recent failures by EA's big acquisitions look even worse than they already do (i.e Bioware) and makes it look like EA's fault. If this game does well the optics are just terrible for EA in every regard. Also I'm pretty sure the only reason this game got made was cause Respawn made a deal with EA about making Apex, with the requirement being they get to make this game the way they want it.

Apex had a rough launch? What? I dont remember it being rough at all and instead was considered a successful phenomena because they had no pre-hype, just said, "hey heres this free game. have fun"

Rough as in connectivity and backround work put in, not reception. Launch problems were resource problems, not "we designed a bad game" problem. EA being frugal contributes or is the straight cause of this, just like them being frugal/greedy has been the cause of many of their headaches the past few years. I'm hoping them being cheap doesnt negatively affect this single player game that will assuredly not get a significant update to fix problems like their live services games do.
