What's everyone's issue with 110 Baigan? I beat him with no medals lost. I thought he was by far one of the easiest 110 fights. Nothing ever hit me for more than 300 damage.

One arm had about a hit left in him and I figured that the self-destruct was HP based so it wouldn't do much.

absolutely fuck U+, this fight is beyond dumb. i've s/l about 6 times now and it follows the same script every time. battle start > surging > 2x lightning skills hit > lol fuck you watera*3 targets for ~6-9k each. even if everyone automatically started at 100% bar i wouldn't be able to get up enough mitigation to survive that.

at least it's only 1 stamina. don't think i'm going to bother with this one.

For posterity, Blood of the Espers does indeed take out 2 hits on Cagnazzo's shield.

I'd imagine doublecast summon/spellblade would do the same.

Also, if the 1st doublecast procs on the last hit of the shield then the 2nd will still hit the weakness.

I do think I need to change my approach here. Using Runic RW helps a lot, but I find myself sitting on thunder abilities until he brings up the water shield. If I skip Runic and go full mitigation with Mighty Guard RW and Magic Breakdown on Yshtola then I end up slowed.

almost had him first try...he was at like 10% but ran out of mitigation due to wasted spellblade/jump moves landing when the barrier popped up or went down. a completely unmitigated aoe waterga hit for 4K to everyone, lol

celes runic is p sweet for this fight though, no worries about stop

RW - Indomitable Blade

Turn 1 - Buffed shout, shellga, used poison shell, blizzaga strike, and lifesiphon.

Used RW with Lenna, kept mbd/fb up, and waited patiently for tsunami phases to do 2x thundara strike + swift bolt with my thunder users.

Both RW charges ran out at about 25% left, at which point i just burned the boss down with the SB gauges I had built up.

Had many S/Ls due to slow/sleep spam, deciding to ready tsunami immediately on turn 1, poison shell not proccing, too much AoE water use, and back to back tsunami use. Frustrating RNG fest.

Just downed cagnazzo. Lost one medal for actions taken.

Setup for those interested:

yuna: venom buster r4, shellga r2 (hymn) (knights charge)
rydia: thundaja r5, carbuncle r3 (blood of espers, though it never went off)
tyro: swift bolt r5, armor b/d r4 (SG) (mog's teachings)
ramza: magic b/d r4, full break r2 (shout) (ace striker)
agrias: thundara strike r5, blizzara strike r5 (cleansing strike) (battleforged)

With reflect, cures are not needed besides hymn. The biggest issue with this setup is cagnazzo healing itself with reflected waters. If you stack magic debuffs then even the triple nukes won't outpace the poison ticks. Pretty much just waited for prepping tsunami phase and then blasted with lightning. If tyro is ready to go and hasted, you can get 2 swift bolts off before tsunami, giving another character a turn to SB, buff, etc. RW haste of any sort, probably the biggest key to staying in control of the fight and preventing tsunami.

runic negates stop counter and his triple spells. the hard part is not getting owned by him either putting a barrier up or losing it while you have actions pending. on this run though I was fucking furious when he cast aoe sleep then promptly put the barrier up.
