    Bonus Battles
    Goldor Manor +
    • Gold Knight x4
      HP: ~37300 each
Target Score: Defeat Gold Knight without being KO'd, Reduce Gold Knight's ATK.
      • Weak: None
      • Absorbs: None
      • Resists: None
      • Vulnerabilities: Slow Abilities, Poison Abilities, Confuse Abilities, Stop Abilities, Blind Abilities, Sleep Abilities, and Sap Abilities
    • Goldor
      HP: ~115000
Target Score: Defeat Goldor without being KO'd, Reduce Goldor's DEF.
      • Weak: None
      • Absorbs: None
      • Vulnerabilities: Slow Abilities, Poison Abilities, Sleep Abilities, and Sap Abilities

    Commentary
Gold Knights x4: Break Fever is excellent here. AoE is also obviously a great choice. Other than that, make sure you buff your party accordingly so you don’t get overwhelmed by them
    Goldor:
    • Acts twice a turn

Goldor can be really annoying especially if he decides to use debuffs on you. Other than that this fight is prettty straightforward. Bring Esuna (or Y’shtola’s Medica II) if you have to.

Recommended abilities: Break Fever, Protectga, Shellga, AoE
    Recommended RW: SG/SS2

    TOTAL medals = 30 medals
, meaning you can only lose a max of 5 medals to get Mastery.

    Castle Saronia ++
    Garuda
    HP: ~187000
    Target Score:
    • Defeat Garuda without being KO'd.
    • Exploit Garuda's weakness to wind attacks.
    • Reduce Garuda's MAG.

    Weak: Wind
    Null: Earth
Vulnerabilities: Poison Abilities, Slow Abilities, and Sap Abilities

    Commentary
    • Acts twice a turn.

Garuda hits really hard, especially its physical attack. Make sure to have Protectga up ASAP and Power Break it if you need to. Once you get mitigation up before he acts, this is an easy fight. Slow is great to have here.

Recommended abilities: Protectga, Shellga, Breakdowns, Slowga
    Recommended RW: SG/SS2

Total medals = 18, meaning you can only afford to lose 3 medals to get Mastery.

    Saronia Catacombs +++
    Odin
    HP: ~214700
    Target Score:
    • Defeat Odin without being KO'd.
    • Reduce Odin's ATK.
    • Reduce Odin's DEF.

    Weak: None
    Absorbs: None
    Resist: None
    Null: None
    Vulnerabilities: None

    Commentary

Get Protectga up ASAP and make sure to reduce his ATK and DEF. This is a pretty straightforward with no special mechanics whatsoever

Recommended abilities: Protectga, Full Break, Power Breakdown
Recommended RW: SG/SS2, Lunatic High, Fabled Song, etc

Total medals = 18, meaning you can only afford to lose 3 medals to get Mastery.

    Lake Dohr (U)
    Leviathan
    HP: ~287100
    Target Score:
    • Exploit Leviathan's weakness to lightning attacks.
    • Reduce Leviathan's MAG.

    Weak: Lightning
Resists: Fire DMG, Earth DMG, Water DMG
    Vulnerabilities: None

    Abilities

    ► Normal

Attack: Deal physical damage to one target.
Blizzaga: Deal heavy ice damage to one target.
Protect: Grant Protect to one target.
Haste: Grant Haste to one target.
Tsunami: Deal moderate water damage to all targets.

    ► Weak

Attack: Deal physical damage to all targets.
Blizzaga: Deal heavy ice damage to one target.
Protect: Grant Protect to one target.
Haste: Grant Haste to one target.
Tsunami: Deal moderate water damage to all targets.

    Commentary
    • Leviathan acts twice a turn.
    • Only 2 target scores.

No Petrify debuff attached to his attacks this time unlike the one in the story paintings.

This is actually an easy fight. Make sure you have important buffs up such as Protectga and/or Shellga and also use Magic/Power Breakdowns. DIspel/Banishing Strike is recommended here to remove his occasional buffs. (You could also cast Reflect on him to get his buffs!)

Recommended abilities: Dispel / Banishing Strike, Reflect, defensive/offensive Breakdowns, Multi-Break / Full Break, Protectga, Shellga.
    Recommended RW: SG/SS2, Scream

Total medals = 15, meaning you can only afford to lose TWO medals to get Mastery.

    Bahamut's Lair (U+)
    Bahamut
    HP: ~330000
    Target Score:
    • Reduce Bahamut's DEF.
    • Exploit Bahamut's weakness to wind attacks.
    • Defeat Bahamut before he uses Megaflare three times.

    Weak: Wind
    Absorbs: None
Resists: All except Lightning and Wind DMG
    Null: None
    Vulnerabilities: None

    Abilities

    ► Normal

Attack: Deal physical damage to one target.
Flare: Deal massive non-elemental damage to one target.
Wing Buffet: Deal moderate ranged physical damage on all targets.
Rake: Deal moderate physical damage on all targets.

    ► Weak

Attack: Deal physical damage to one target.
Flare: Deal massive non-elemental damage to one target.
Vacuum Wave: Deal moderate physical damage to all targets.
Rake: Deal moderate physical damage on all targets.
Megaflare: Deal massive non-elemental damage to all targets.

    ► Very Weak

Attack: Deal physical damage to one target.
Flare: Deal massive non-elemental damage to one target.
Wing Buffet: Deal moderate ranged physical damage on all targets.
Vacuum Wave: Deal moderate physical damage to all targets.
Megaflare: Deal massive non-elemental damage to all targets.

    Commentary
    • Whenever Bahamut enters a new phase, Megaflare is used and it is followed immediately with another attack.
    • When Bahamut reaches his Weak state (~55%-60%HP), he acts twice a turn.

This can be a difficult fight if you don’t have proper mitigation plans. His AoE attacks hurt a lot, and he starts with a regular physical attack that hits for ~4.7k.

You’re going to need to manage phase changes well with his scripted Megaflares. Pre-cast AoE heals where necessary, or make sure mitigation (SG/SS2/Defend) is up.

Don’t forget wind attacks for target score!

    Recommended abilities: Power/Magic/Armor Breakdown, Full Break / Multi-Break, Protectga/Shellga,
    Recommended RW: SG/SS2, Scream

Total medals = 18, meaning you can only afford to lose 3 medals to get Mastery.

Sadly I don't think so, all the combos i've seen have only been shellga/res + high regen, I don't think we ever see another protectga combo that isn't protectga/shellga or protectga/hastega. Considering magic is still the most deadly of all bosses attacks these days, it's not necessarily a bad thing.

I'd rather have shellga/high regen. I'm going to take protect for trash mobs/lower tier fights anyways.

There isn't a Wall + Buff yet. iirc Echo had one data mined originally for the Mobius collab but Dena changed it before the banner released. Presumably it was too strong.

How about more walls in general to get some diversity and more chances for those of us with far too much mythril spent chasing SG and watching Stoneskin get dropped from every celebration banner which I can only imagine is going to happen to banner 4 in the next fest?

Walls in general are starting to get phased out in JP atm, more and more bosses are having defense/resistance ignoring attacks which make wall irrelevant and more and more unique debuffs are becoming available making wall not as necessary.

I think the issue with walls is that after Sentinel, DeNa realized it was pretty strong and Y'shtola probably only got one because of XIV lore.

With the addition of Cid Missions and the move toward Def/Res ignoring attacks, DeNa probably didn't want every realm to have a wall as that would truly defeat the purpose of the additional difficulty of realm specific parties.

If regain existed in FFRK, I could see pairing Protect + Regain and Shell + Regen. Though as it is with the amount of Def buffs around and the lack of Res buffs I can see why Regen gets paired with Shell a lot more often.

What are Bahamut's HP thresholds for phase changes? 100/55/25?

I know I should save for BSbreakfest, but Banner 1 looks tempting to pull on.

I guess I should play FF3 at some point. Maybe by the time the next FF3 event comes around after this.

There is not one for global If I recall, because the other FF3 events have been collabs. Same for FFII up until just recently in Japan.

Yeah but we're way past the collabs. This one still is the last FFIII event released even in Japan. I suppose there could be more eventually but by then we'll have much better banners and, hopefully, the guaranteed 5* on each 11 pull.

I'm making a mean joke at FF3's expense, I don't plan on playing it!
(unless it's actually really good or something and I'm missing out)

It's as decent as FF1 was imo, it's nowhere near the scope of FF4 and up in terms of story, but it's a decent story, DS/PSP version is apparently the hardest version since they doubled/tripled enemy stats to compensate for not fighting against waves of 5-8 enemies.
