I can RW Intercession, if anyone wants. It was hitting for 6kX3 (with Abyss dungeon buff and 500 MND) but it was full healing the entire team.

also insta-kills the guardian in phase 3 with no drawback, so if you have the hones for it you can just kill him immediately 3x over and prevent him from buffing evrae. i'd suggest either bringing raise or some form of dispel for evrae because it's absolutely awful once it gets haste.

Took me a few hours of S/L but this team finished it up with 3 medals lost.

RW - Will of the White Mage for late phase 1 before SB were charged and for P2 when I blew up mirrors.

Saved 3 raises for guardians. There is a soft enrage to the fight where Evare will charge Nightmare Breath every turn eventually. Found that out when my first setup ran out of hones.

had lenna in originally but took too much damage. subbed in tyro for SG instead. won first try with him in.

raised double damage mirror, miracle prayer or HotF, nuked down petri one, raised the silence one, whichever aoe cure I didn't use the first time, nuked down poison one and evrae while rebuffing for final phase, ignored the guado and zerged evrae down.

time to shatter some abilities!

Barely mastered after I had to create another r4 diara. Only 2 on my team had unique sb tho

Mastered with 2 Diara, 2 Diaga, Curaise, Curaga, Curaja and Holy.

Used Poisona and Esuna to control the Nightmare Breath. RW was MG this time. Ended up being a lot easier but I was fortunate that Vanille double cast so much.

I kinda liked this. My first try I took Vanille and Aerith because I'm dumb and didn't know that I had Eiko and Selphie SBs and just took highest MND/LVL/HP. Winning team:

Never ran out of hones. Never used Raise. Dropped Mirror 3 then 4 before 2 even attacked. P3, most people had two SB bars since I could not spend them fast enough. Yuna capped damage even against shelled boss. Stacked the most MND on Penelo since her SB would do the most damage (7-8k damage three times with 6-7k AoE healing) then Yuna and evened across the rest. I used HP accessories on Eiko (FFVIII 5* head normal 700 gave 1100) and Y'shtola to have everyone over 4500. Regen SBs wipe poison and no one dropped below half.

Not gonna lie, this fight is pretty bullshit. Requires you to bring so many different things that you normally wouldn't even have made or honed and has way too much going on.

I only ended up making r4 diara and esuna. Otherwise it was all stuff I already had. Will agree that there's a lot to manage in the fight though.

3 diara + a diaga weren't enough for me, my white mage gear consists of a thyrus, cat ear hood, and keepsake ribbon. healer's robe too but it actually has less mind than my bracelets and bangles. have 0 other whm SBs and no holy boosting equipment. i'll probably just end up skipping this.

The SB's are probably the difference. I had hymn/dreamstage/SG, so I used my curaga/curaja as nukes instead of heals. Only other dmg ability I took was water scroll on tyro.

Building a party for 140 Tiamat now, last time I did it on elite I skipped earth proc since I had trash medals to help grease the wheels and still master with. What's the best way to squeeze in a shitty earth proc without losing too much damage on a fight that primarily made for melee damage? I doubt I can skip it this time and still master since it JUST the boss fight. :/

just bring 1 mage with stuff like Quake and Meteor

Or if you bring Tyro just give him a quake

Can't master without the target scores since it only has a 2 medal allowance for mastery. Either need someone with an earth SB, or quake/fat chocobo are the only 2 options in terms of abilities. Personally I just took meteor/quake on a BLM in an otherwise physical party and didn't have any issue mastering the fight.
