    Bonus Battles
    Bounty Hunters +

Target Score: Defeat Lani without being KO'd, Reduce Lani's MAG.
      • Weak: None
      • Absorbs: None
      • Resists: None
      • Vulnerabilities: Blind Abilities
    • Scarlet Hair

      • Weak: None
      • Absorbs: None
      • Vulnerabilities: Blind Abilities

    Commentary
Lani: Keep Lani magic broken and buff your party with Shellga and she’ll be harmless. Also afflict her with Blind for an even easier fight!
    Scarlet Hair:
    • Scarlet Hair has a chance to move between the front and rear lines each turn.
    • When in the rear lines, melee attacks won’t reach.
Blind Scarlet Hair and he’ll become harmless!

Recommended abilities: Shellga, Magic Break, Blindga
    Recommended RW: SG/SS2, Scream

    TOTAL medals = 30 medals
, meaning you can only lose a max of 5 medals to get Mastery.

    Defense System ++
    Valia Pira
    HP: ~215300
    Target Score:
    • Defeat Valia Pira without being KO'd.
    • Win without Zidane being KO'd.
    • Exploit Valia Pira's weakness to wind attacks.
    Weak: Wind
Null: Earth (0-4 Bloodstones Detected), All (5 Bloodstones Detected)
Vulnerabilities: Slow Abilities, Blind Abilities, and Sleep Abilities

    Commentary
    • At the start of the battle, Valia Pira detects bloodstones based on the number of FFIX characters in the party, affecting its stats, behavior, and elemental attributes.
    • With 0 FFIX characters, Valia Pira enters its 5 Bloodstones Detected form.
    • With 5 FFIX characters, Valia Pira enters its 0 Bloodstones Detected form.
With Zidane in the party, you don’t have to worry about Valia Pira entering its strong form. Make sure to keep it magic broken and also have Shellga up so you take minimal damage. Mage parties can take advantage of its Sleep vulnerability. Don’t forget though, wind element is needed for target score!

Recommended abilities: Sleep Buster, Silence Buster / Silencega, defensive Breakdowns.
    Recommended RW: SG/SS2

Total medals = 18, meaning you can only afford to lose 3 medals to get Mastery.

    Absolute Administrator +++
    Garland
    HP: ~230300
    Target Score:
    • Defeat Garland without being KO'd.
    • Reduce Garland's MAG.
    • Exploit Garland's weakness to holy attacks.
    Weak: Holy
    Absorbs: None
    Resist: None
    Null: None
    Vulnerabilities: None

    Commentary

Garland hits pretty hard with his Wave ability so take note. Make sure to use defensive Breakdowns and buffs to take minimal damage. Other than that, he is a pretty easy boss. Don’t forget to exploit holy weakness!

Recommended abilities: Defensive Breakdowns, Protectga, Shellga
Recommended RW: SG/SS2, Mighty Guard (VIII), etc

Total medals = 18, meaning you can only afford to lose 3 medals to get Mastery.

    Solid Loyalty (U)
    Steiner
    HP: ~280000
    Target Score:
    • Exploit Steiner's weakness to dark attacks.

    Null: Holy
    Vulnerabilities: None

(Ultimate) Shock: Deal heavy physical damage to one target (ignores DEF)
(Ultimate) Stock Break: Deal moderate physical damage and Sap all targets.
(Ultimate) Iainuki: Deal moderate physical damage to all targets.

    ► Weak

Attack: Deal physical damage to one target.
Power Break: Deal very heavy physical damage to one target and reduce the target’s ATK for a few turns.
(Ultimate) Shock: Deal heavy physical damage to one target (ignores DEF)
(Ultimate) Stock Break: Deal moderate physical damage and Sap all targets.
(Ultimate) Climhazzard: Deal moderate non-elemental magic damage to all targets.

    Commentary
    • When Steiner reaches 50%HP, he enters Weak state and his stats increase.
Tauntaliate will nullify his Armor and Power Break. Keep Steiner Power broken throughout the fight while buffing the party with Protectga and this fight is yours.

Recommended abilities: Draw Fire + Retaliate, defensive/offensive Breakdowns
Recommended RW: SG/SS2, Lunatic High, any Attack boosting SB, etc

Total medals = 18, meaning you can only afford to lose 3 medals to get Mastery.

Flare Star: Deal moderate non-elemental damage to all targets.

Flare: Deal massive non-elemental damage to one target.
Flare Star: Deal moderate non-elemental damage to all targets.
Ten Million Volts: Deal moderate special lightning damage to all targets.
Flash of Death: Deal moderate special lightning physical damage to all targets.

    Commentary
    • Kuja’s first turn is either Attack or Gravity.
    • When Kuja enters his Weak state HP threshold (~70%), he will use Gravija on his next turn. Gravija is only used once in the entire fight. Knowing this, try not to heal up if your party is damaged going into this phase. This may save you a damage taken medal.
    • When Kuja enters his Very Weak state (~50%), he will transform into Trance Kuja and use One Million Volts as a interrupt, Kuja will act twice a turn afterwards for the rest of the fight. Watch your party’s HP going into this phase, heal up afterwards where necessary.
    • When Kuja enters his Critical state (~25-30%), the red aura surrounding him intensifies and he will use Ten Million Volts as an interrupt. Heal up the party where necessary, this is the last stretch so give it all you got.
    SOME TIPS:
    • Lightning resist accessories are recommended. If there’s one thing that will annoy you in your Kuja runs, it’s his AoE Thundaga. Even with Shell and Magic Break, it hits the party for ~4000. Having said accessories will cut the damage by a considerable amount. This is very important, especially for teams that aren’t taking a wall SB (SG/SS2)
    • Kuja acts very fast, Hastega SB are recommended.
    • Magic Lure + Reflect is a very decent strategy. It nullifies all his single target magic and redirects them back at himself. It hits for decent damage (assuming you didn’t use any Break/Breakdowns), about ~5500 damage.
Recommended abilities: Magic Lure + Reflect, defensive Breakdowns, Full Break / Multi-Break, Shellga
    Recommended RW: SG/SS2, Scream

Total medals = 15, meaning you can only afford to lose TWO medals to get Mastery.

If you need Garnet's RM2, it only drops from IX dungeons. Might wanna throw her into the fray for the low levels if you need it (I have been waiting for this event).

This is the last important banner before Bursting Breakfast right?

As much as I want Ragnarok or Punisher, Vincent just got to 80 and I'm pretty sure hes my main mage going forward since he has his Atk/Mag buff SB. It's going to take some self control, but I'm going to hold off.

    Yay for Memento Mori though!

I'm definitely looking forward to the second +20% sword rm, dark zone r3, being able to take Zidane to 80 after pulling his ssb during the last fest, and hopefully an en-dark glove if RNGesus permits.

2 medal leeway to master U+ Kuja, not so fun.

Maybe I'm the only one not worried about the 2 medal mastery for Kuja. With Bolt Ring (VII - moderate), Coral Ring (IX - moderate), Gigas Armlet (II - moderate), Necrophobe Ward (IV - moderate) and Bolt Armlet (Core - major) the damage output of Kuja doesn't scare me too much.

I'm not personally worried either, considering I've been able to get a perfect score on every U+ fight to date, but for those who lack gear/hones, it's a pretty shitty way to artificially inflate the difficulty of the fight imo.

Nope, we're getting BSSBfest sometime around FF14 event, so we'll have other good banners like Lightning BSSB and Auron/Braska SSB banner.

As much as I want Light's BSSB, her banner isn't exactly "good". Kuja 2 is surely a much, much better banner overall.

Might pull for Beatrix SSB, but not sure how much to pull with. Maybe a 3 pull since I'm saving for SMN Abyss and BSB festival.

I voted Rinoa, so I'm just SOL with the whole situation.

Who wants a way too thick cloth belt? C'mon.
