    In today's preview, players will catch a glimpse of the Deep Dungeon, a new type of encounter being introduced in patch 3.35. Starting from level 1, new players and veterans alike must band together and fight through a gauntlet of enemies and traps to reach the darkest depths of a subterranean labyrinth.
    Deep Dungeon - Palace of the Dead



    In the subterranean city of Gelmorra, deep within a forgotten corner of Issom--Har, stout-hearted explorers have uncovered the entrance to a labyrinthine dungeon. Those who set foot inside its maddening halls find their vigor drained by an irresistible fog of innervation, and repeated excursions have failed to map its seemingly inconstant architecture. After hearing chilling accounts of spectral denizens, locals took to whispering of a "Palace of the Dead," and the Wood Wailers now seek the assistance of adventurers in laying bare its haunted secrets...

    It's a shame this isn't coming in 3.3, this is probably one of most interesting features to me.

    Finally, some insight into what the fuck happened with Gelmorra.

    Wivre and puks in the preview, and that dungeon atmosphere gives me hope we'll find a Dverger at the bottom.

    I know the intent is more towards older FFs but that menu box design reminds me of 1.0's menus. A lot.

    Haven't they mentioned it'll have no real rewards? Sounded more like a minigame than an actual content to me.

    They said the weapon would be usable outside of the dungeon once completed. If they made it close to max ilvl there would be at least a reward.

    I mean, "the dungeons were designed to be a little easier than normal dungeons" already doesn't bode all that well for it as lasting group content, especially if the weapon is the only real reward.

    I took that as "the weapon will become a physical, equippable item once you complete the dungeon". Judging by the screenshots released today, I feel like it'll just be part of the dungeon's UI until then. I wouldn't hold my breath for another source of i230-240 weapons from this (plus it'll come so late into the tier that it'll be pointless due to relics and welfare gobdips).
