When do we unlock 2nd job btw?
After Belias from what I've heard.
I've been seeing a lot of folks complain about input lag, and I keep waiting for it to happen to me... but so far nothing, it's been perfect. Does it start at a certain point in the game? or is it specific to PS4-pro?
i can't say i've noticed anything but i only played for an hour last night. i guess i'm not sure i understand the concern about input latency in a game like this though. is there anything that requires frame-precise inputs?
No, but input lag can still be annoying. I've definitely run across games over the years where high input lag completely ruined my ability to enjoy the game, regardless of whether it actually had any effect on how I played it.
yeah and immediately after posting that i remembered the one instance in a non-fighting game where it actually did drive me nuts: the PS3 version of FFX HD. which wasn't really a problem for most of the game, except for lightning dodging and the goddamn chocobo races. i could do those perfectly on the original version running into my old CRT, but i felt completely hopeless in the remaster, haha.
I haven't noticed any large input lag problems.
Though if I remember correctly the original FFXII had input lag heavily on menus. Without googling the answer I believe it had something to do with how the menu and the paused action on the screen would create some sort of lag.
If I haven't noticed it, it's probably because I remember that being the case in the original and my brain has decided to shuffle the "lag" into a "ah it's still like this" and I don't feel it. I'll boot up the game later and confirm.
Edit: While looking this up I came across people saying the game is completely unplayable which is definitely not the case for me.
I've got a Pro and I only have input lag on the title screen.

Hard lining the DS3 via USB helped with the bolts, but hyper dodger chocobo is like 90% luck. No amount of recovered input latency will save you from like 2 hours of smacking into gullwings and blitzballs.
FF12... I think I'm in the "wait for the PC port" camp. Don't have 100 hours to throw at a new RPG right now.
Got my copy in today, played for 2 hours, and am COMPLETELY satisfied so far. Like, this is the way a remaster should be done. HD resolution, re-worked textures, lighting effects, re-orchestrated music score.....you name it, and they hit every nail right on the head.
The only input lag that I've noticed was on the title screen as well.
the instrumentation quality of the original was a lot higher compared to FFX, so the difference is a lot less dramatic compared to FFX and its remaster. the arrangements i've heard so far are definitely a lot closer to the originals, the main giveaway in a lot of places is the songs are mixed a bit differently so some sections/phrases are a lot more prominent compared to the originals.
Just got Balthier and Fran, and I tried some gambit. Fran knows the Libra skill and unlokced in her Licence.
I tried to give her a gambit that says Target Leader's target but I cant assign Libra to it, it says it'S not valid with that target
Anyway to make a gambit that will do Libra 1 time on the leader's target then shift to attack?
Libra is assigned to self. It's a persistent effect rather than something you use on a target.
Can't even imagine how annoying it would be to Libra every enemy lol
People with anxiety over the job locking should try thinking of it like this:
Yes, there are optimal combinations, but in the original IZJS each character was locked to a single job class. So, even if you choose the least synergistic combo, you're still pretty OP.
(Really, what you should pay attention to / research beforehand are the character weapon animations you prefer...)
