Recently bought this for Switch and I recommend it to everyone who hasn't played it before. The graphics look stunning, the new job system fixes the only major drawback of the original version and the remastered soundtrack is simply mind blowing.
FFXII has always been my favorite RPG, and probably my favorite game ever. In terms of Zodiac Age my biggest disappointment has been the lack of new content. I would love to have optional hunts, super bosses..perhaps a special dungeon.
Also jealous of the cover posted by Yuri above. In Europe FF covers have always been the logo printed on a white background. Has a fine touch when you think of it but the artwork of this game is tremendous.
There was a pretty sweet limited steelbook for PS4 from what I remember.
Things like this is why I regret buying things for consoles. Both the PC and Switch versions would allow me to play everywhere else outside my living room, even at work. Also the PC version means prettier with mods. I love this game, enjoy it for switch dude it's perfect for it.
The PC version is one of my favorites. I played the shit outta this on ps2, so when I got the pc version I downloaded a completed file and started in 'Weak Mode'.
What a trip. Everything is beatable at lv1. Great game. Enjoy the switch version, having it on handheld would be amazing
I couldn't bring myself to buy for PC or switch since I had already bought or owned the game like 3 times at that point. Couldn't justify paying full price AGAIN. Same with like 6 other games, we should get discounts or free releases when we buy it on another platform lol.
I just drop things like that in my wishlist. Think I got ff12 for 50% off during one of the sale periods. Job system and fast forward for combat make it worth it. The zodiac system is the best way to play this.
Agreed, there should be a multi platform discount and cross-save compatibility for such games. I am away from home for work a lot and many times I wish for a cross-save system where I can continue from where I've left off (ex. Witcher 3, great pc - switch save compatibility but no ps4 - switch). Steam does this quite well for PC and Mac.
And thanks to you guys now I want to check the PC version out lol.
Oh is it rare/limited? I have a sealed copy here; I just looked on eBay and it seems like it can potentially go for £50 (for brand new), nearly twice as much as I brought it for.
If I let it marinade a bit more I can offload it in the future I guess. I have the steam version from a sale so I have no desire to play it on the PS4 anymore lol
Jesus christ finally, they updated both PS4 and PC versions of the game to include the extras Xbone/Switch versions had. I had completely given up on them even bothering, as it's been a few days short of an entire year.
Oh I had no idea they had plans tod o that.
Woah, never thought they would be doing that and was annoyed about that for a while when I first heard about it lol. The only one I remember was the ability to job change? I forget what else was added.
Job Reset
3 Gambit Sets
PS4
“OST” has been added under the config menu “Music.”
PC
Removed denuvo
Good riddance to useless DRM that never works anyways.
Oh they're allowing job resets now? Gotta get back into the game.
Back to playing this again as a result of the PS4/PC update (Apparently I only played it for 3hrs? Must have gotten distracted hard by something else at the time), and I question why the speed toggle was made just that in the original PS2 IZJS release, instead of say, adding a sprint button or something. If people felt combat was too slow they could have just added more options to the combat speed config option that already exists, but it was mostly the getting around for me where things dragged a little on the original release, especially when exploring every nook and cranny.
I guess being able to flip the 2x/4x on the fly is just more convenient I suppose, and easier for the devs if they had the CPU overhead already to allow it.
