Normal ambuscade is against a single boss antlion Februus at start. Starting at 90%(?) or so, he will summon 3 adds which are hella weak. A single -ja from a good BLM should annihilate them all. Boss a unique move Gravity Pull that does damage + small draw-in. Very easy as long as you can kill the adds fast since they TP in tandem with the main NM.

The antlion can summon more adds later in the fight. Don't know what triggers it.

How can a draw in be "small"? Did you mean pull in?
Or maybe I'm missing your point, sorry in that case

If "pull in" is a thing, then yes, that's what it does.

Oh, I thought the two handed buffs they mentioned were coming this update.

    Oh well.

They posted a few days ago that it's being postponed

Here is the post from the SE forums
I would just like to make a quick clarification that the development team has only begun to talk about the fact that we'd like to make adjustments to two-handed weapons, and the details have yet to be fleshed out. Once we make some progress on this we will be sure to share!

I am getting bored of this ambuscade stuff honestly :X

Its like the game has come to a complete standstill and they are just feeding us ambuscade for the sake of giving us gear. Nothing interesting nothing job defining nada ._.

Nothing job defining except for those ambuscade capes.

I don't have much time to play at the moment so Ambuscade is actually suiting me perfectly. If I cap out on gallantry/hallmark cape upgrade items before next month I'll be surprised.

The master trial and tumult curator been keeping me busy... and they are supposedly adding more UNM and more Master Trials and we have a new quest. If that's not enough I can always just pick up another job I only really am that good at 3 and a half of them and there's room to improve even on those.

I think it's a pretty new thing they added in FFXI. I remember some T3 NMs in Escha use that. It's like a knockback but it knocks you "in" (towards the monster). Other games call it "pull-in". Don't remember any NM before those using it. Maybe some Legion or VW stuff, I don't really remember.

My reasoning was that a Draw in can't be "small" or even "big", unless you mean the range. A Draw in is a draw in, if you get drawn in you appear on the mob no matter what your position was, so we can't really talk about "small", can we?

i think from the start a lot of us conceded this was the new 'endgame' what with the mobile about to take off. They're just trying to keep subs up (like points reset each month) with minimal investment until then. Most of us figured a year ago that worthwhile challenging content would come to an end with rhapsodies and that's mostly held true

ambuscade is a way for newbies to get started on escha, and for rest there's the capes and that's it

Just short tests and nothing conclusive but it doesn't give any TP, does the same thing as Inhibitor with making it hold TP for SC though. Using both Speedloaders on mobs in Reisen and one fire gave constant little less than double damage on light skillchain. Triple fire on two part SC was around triple damage.

Ambuscade IS THE laziest "content"... ever.

It's shameful. The Dev(s?) should be ashamed.

    The capes are amazing...

RoV final boss uses it at the start of an absorb phase.

For those still wondering, you obtain the new permanent KI "Shimmering Invitation" by trading 15 stars to the Geen Thumb Moogle in your Mog Garden.
As expected, makes an Ephemeral Moogle appear in your Mog Garden.

    I think that was directly explained in the patch notes though ^^;

Looks like the digging spoils per zone is quite huge; already i've found geodes and shall shell to add to the above terrigan list. conquest points seems to be quite a large range. I got 690 CP from a successful dig.

I'll report back if i get the chest.

edit: also cactus stems from terrigan.
