You have to wonder what the underlying point of the mass reddit censorship was. Trying to block Islamophobia? PC Culture nonsense? A failure to understand why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?

I mean, as someone who actually did receive beatings and death threats after 9/11 (ironically despite being neither Middle Eastern nor Muslim), I can understand why some larger organizations would rather be safe than sorry when it comes to developing situations. But realistically, I think anyone who would be prone to that kind of retaliatory violence made up their mind the second they heard there was a shooting.

I'm not certain how that makes a difference. The point is that they reach whatever they individually consider a wide audience. They might not want to hear on the news tomorrow about how some no-name from bumblefuck, nowhere decided to start lynching browns because of something they read on reddit. Maybe. I don't know what they're thinking. Reddit does weird shit sometimes.

Idk, but the same thing has been happening for a while with EU migrant/refugee crime news when it comes to mainstream media/reddit/etc. Pretty scary.

cnn now is saying a man in Santa Monica CA was arrested last night after receiving a tip from neighbors.

Apparently his car had explosive powder and assault rifles, was planning to do something at L.A. gay pride. His connection to Orlando(if there is any) is unknown at this time.
