Haha, the question that pops up like every 2 weeks recently
Lordy that finale for Orange..
Just burned through Orange today. Hit me in the feels for sure. I fux w/ it heavy. Can't wait for the movie
Finished Kuromukuro. As I said all season, it was one of the sleeper hits for me. They dedicated an entire 2 episodes after the climax wrapping everything and setting up what happens to the characters after. Everyone got some kind of closure. Don't see that shit much in anime anymore.
Loved the ending to Kuromukuro, and they left it open for a season 2.
I love how the first episode was about Yukina going to mars, the final ep has it as her first stop on the trip to go save Kennosuke.
Finally powered thru Danganronpa 3 now kind of mad they canceled 2. Would've liked to see more of class 77 instead of that abridged yep Naegi fixed them all up somehow...
And finally finished Orange. Not sure if anyone else really kept up to it but in the end I'd have to give it really mixed
Pros
Love the whole going back to save someone concept. Certain amount of nostalgia for things like Erased or Steins;Gate
Still managed to jerk some feels out
No redos until you get it right thing
Cons
Basically went straight to the conflict making it hard to really develop the characters as themselves and also made it so the entire show was spent on it.
Presented a step by step highly detailed solution to said conflict right away
No redos necessary because the many failures along the way really didn't matter. For that matter a lot the things done right along the way didn't seem to matter either.
Most shows what extends how long the central conflict takes to get resolved are things not completely in control of the MC. Like not having full knowledge, timelines not wanting to change a lot, fighting against enemy forces, your father is secretly trying to destroy the world behind the scenes etc. Here the main thing stopping things is the MC's own social retardation and inability to do the things her future self told her to do. At first it's a little endearing but after awhile you just start yelling at her to Just do it already lol.
The series was okay as a whole. But a lot of the drama seemed kind of forced. And yeah, MC being the most incredibly meek, shy and timid stereotypical Japanese girl possible didn't help lol. I'm totally on the same page with you there
Yeah I think they got into it and they were like fuck we have to spread out them solving this for 13 episodes? How to stall... made up drama because MC refuses to act
Most shoujo seems to follow that, like the ideal way for a girl to be is timid and shy as shit. It's annoying but the rest of the cast made up for it, despite being underdeveloped.
Was nice overall, I think I liked the other timeline more though.
