A bit. Falcom released information regarding a train the classes will use. I don't remember the full details but SiliconEra had an article about it:

All aboard the hype train!
give me the fucking game right now pls
I need to finish Ao this weekend, I've been on the last chapter for a few weeks...
I still need to play them but I'm crossing my fingers XSEED will deliver.
Maximum Hype.
I've been debating getting Ao and Zero.
Ebay has both PSP entries together for around $20.
But.. is Evo worth the extra..$40ish for each game?
It's certainly helping me keep up with the translation spreadsheet since the translation is dry. Having the voice acting really helps with context and character

Finished Trails the 3rd.
God damn, what a send off. I went into the game wondering how they'd top the conclusion of SC but. . this game did a VERY good job. Was iffy due to the structure (basically quasi-dungeon crawler), but they made it work very, very well.
Spoiler: show
Now I want more.
Yep The 3rd was a wonderful sendoff to such a memorable cast. Manly tears were shed.

Yeah I did. I'd actually read up on the scene before given that I didn't expect it to come here.

So picking up Ys 8 next week as my first Ys game >.>;
Being late to the Ys series myself and having played Memories of Celceta and VII I'm not sure how to quite describe the series. It's not Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest in scale and it isn't over-the-top anime inspired like Tales or Persona.
Ys seems to find itself in the niche of a throwback RPG unconcerned with the trappings of trying to tackle high concept ideas and more about just being a raw hack and slash adventure ride.
Combat is definitely the most satisfying thing.
