FALCOM - Trails in the Sky, Cold Steel, Ys Series (SPOILERS)

I finished Kuro no Kiseki. Really enjoyed it a lot.

I think Van now takes the top spot in the list of my favorite protags in this series. He's a bit older, knows who he is and what he does and the story is much better than I thought it would be. Never felt corny or like a tool. There is a LOT of fan service in this game. Like character model wise. It's probably their most risque game yet, I'm not complaining, just thought to mention it.

The music definitely fell off though, feel the departure of Unisuga a lot. Still some great tracks, but not nearly as many as previous titles.

Definitely also felt like the easiest of them all. S-Crafts in this game are insanely OP with the right setups. (I realize they are in most of the series) but if that was the case here, should have increased many bosses HP.

That's all I'll say. Enjoyed it, looking forward to where it goes. But I'm done with Trails for a while with a particularly stacked year in gaming. I'm sure there will be a fan translation for Kuro 2 before long, but I'll give it a while to marinate.

I don't think you'll find many people who disagree with you here. I'd say ANY ship you can engage in in Cold Steel is better than vanilla ass Rean X Alisa. My first blind play throughs I went with Laura all the way, then Sara.

Is it because I had an alcoholic ex with the same name? Or just that she had giant anime tiddies? WHO KNOWS!

Nah just a case of The Dumb. Work has been hectic the last 3 weeks.

Though yeah Fie and Laura were always my favorite duo to pair up. Put Fie in full evasion gear, critical counter attacks and the Master Quartz to have her draw aggro. Watch enemies wiff and Laura slaughters with follow ups. I cleaned up so many fights in no time with that set up. Especially in CS4 when you get that one quarts that raises strength at the expense of speed.

So a few days ago there was a huge shadow drop of an official NISA port done by durante's team of Kuro no Kiseki on steam. It's in Japanese and is a huge improvement from the cloud leopard version. Also this game will get a patch when the official English translation is out. I think they know the market is huge for a non official patch and making a good patch for the JPN version is in there best interest. I wonder if they will do the same thing for Kuro 2. It also makes me think we will be getting the game in english a lot sooner than we think, it's entirely possible we get in Q4 of this year or very early Q1 2024.
