I'm hoping the SNES classic controllers feel as squishy as the O.G. ones.
I've bought a USB version and I fucking hated how hard the buttons were.

launch week bumppage!
several reports of random Wal-Marts breaking street date today to no great surprise
I plan on Wal-Mart at midnight, and if work allows, Target at 8am and TRU at 10am.
I'll check my Walmart tomorrow, last time they had the NES classics on the shelf for over a month.
Numbers are looking much better this time around.

Possibly sufficient launch quantities indeed! Targets' quantities in my area: 52, 131, 30, 53, 42, 63, 40, 120.
I talked to several Walmarts today; most locations aren't open 24 hours anymore. Many open at 6am, and it should be pretty easy picking at this hour. Walmarts may have 30-50 units per store.
One could hit up a 24hr Walmart at midnight, another Walmart at 6am, Target 8am, and TRU 10am. I shall find 3 or 4 by lunchtime Friday.
Ended up ordering some cable extensions since it looks like even the longer SNES Classic cords still aren't quite enough. Least I'll be able to use these on the NES Classic also when that gets a re-release in 2018.
Actually am curious if the NES Classic re-release will be identical to the previous release, or sport the upgraded emulator features the SNES has with the replay functionality.....and possibly fixing the bad scaling/noise channel.
Altho i have one reserved, i wish i knew if my local walmart broke street date.
broward here. going to target and walmart tomorrow and will let you know.
Nice let me know, I stopped in at the walmart on Broward and 95 since its right on my way to work and didnt see any sign of where theyd even go. I run a lan center up in Pompano so Im going to just stop in and check the 24 hour one right by my store at 2am when I get off on Sample and Federal.
2am Friday at a 24hr wally should bear fruit, what with quantities of 30-60 expected
Apparently you can't play Star Fox 2 until you finish the first level of Star Fox. Why? Hell if I know but that's what people are reporting.
That's been known since week 1 of the SNES Classic being announced. I personally find it a dumb decision given it's the big feature on the box, but I'll be playing Star Fox 1 again regardless.
Spoiler: show
Also looks like yet-again, manuals are not stored on the device itself, which I find dumb personally, but I guess they're probably scraping for storage space as-is with what's likely a 512mb NAND.
Those 21 games are less than 50MB total. Storage definitely wasn't the reason.
I presumed some of the space is taken by the OS/UI/emulator, and a large chunk reserved for save states and the replay feature for the 21 games.
NES roms are freakin' tiny in comparison but you couldn't put that many on a modded NES Mini last I checked due to the save state size.
