I'm pretty excited, not gonna lie.
Well I'm certainly excited for this. From this trailer, it looks like they may explore or at least mention Dumbledore's and Grindewald's relationship a bit.
lol, you think?
Apparently people are claiming racism that Nagini being played by a Korean actress.
https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/d...s-so-offensive
Apparently her being Asian is racist because JK Rowling only writes Asian women as submissive and weak because of Cho Chang, and now Nagini because she houses part of Voldemort's soul. Also if Dumbledore IS gay, that's disrespectful because he didn't specifically mention so in the books. "Harry... you're going to have to fight one of the most powerful wizards that ever lived. Also, I like the dick." I don't know, I'm not sure I'll ever understand what's okay to say and what's not.
Say whatever you want, just don't expect people to care. That's how I do it.
I mean, whats OK is pretty obvious 99% of the time lol. Just stop worrying about 10 assholes on twitter or Tumblr.
I suppose it gives angry people something to talk about other than Johnny Depp being in the movies.
I mean, I think he was a terrible casting idea but it's not the end of the world.
really shoulda stuck with Colin Ferrell
I agree.
Colin Ferrel wasnt grindlewald in the original.
Well, not really.

I mean he could have been and I would not have been mad.
People dont want Depp cause he has a sexual assault allegation against him? I havent been following this trainwreck of a critique of an unreleased movie.

No, he's just really shit.
The big issue with the gay thing is more that it came across as pandering/fake diversity after the fact. like, oh shit I need someone to appeal to the gays, uhhh DUMBLEDORE WAS GAY THE WHOLE TIME. Nothing wrong with him being gay but when there is zero evidence in the text itself it seems like a blatant ploy at being inclusive. If he was actually hinted at being gay when the books were relevant Christians would be even more butthurt about the books lol. I can almost hear my folks 'BLACK MAGIC AND A HOMOSEXUAL RUNNING A SCHOOL?'
On the other side of that, I don't think there needs to be evidence for a person's sexual orientation in a book. Not unless it's plot relevant. She didn't do it for any other character.
