Jude Law confirmed as young Albus Dumbledore
but why
because hollywood, or something. i didn't particularly enjoy the first one, mainly because the plot deviated so far from the fantastic beasts i was promised.

Cautiously optimistic.
Yeah I'm in that same boat. I STILL think using "Fantastic Beasts and where to find them" as the ship for the "Epic superhero level harry potter universe film" is silly as fuck, but this actually kind of looks interesting.
I am excite.
I'm in. I thoroughly enjoyed the first one despite Depp.
That's not fair, he was barely in it as himself. I liked what little of him we had.
Really liked the first, but the middle I felt dragged cause of double love interests going on. This looks great though, and I didn't know a young Dumbledore was in it either so thats great. Bring it on I say, milk this baby for all its worth as long as the writing stays interesting.

As far as the first one goes, it wasn't a bad movie, but it was pretty forgettable. Its visible ties to the Harry Potter universe were extremely weak so it lacked a certain charm that it sorely needed to be a legitimate "Harry Potter movie".
This one automatically looks better because, let's face it, it's finally concerning itself with elements we've been curious about all these years. Let's just hope it does our imaginations some justice.
