FF4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 all currently have a darkness mage, and 13 eventually gets one. From my experience, synergy weapon gets me anywhere from 15-20k damage on DZ on U+, and no synergy around 10-12k with no buffs outside of memento mori and full break, so its a potent combo for CM purposes, and usable in roughly half of the events.
My DZs are only doing about 7k, but my physical synergy isn't really any better even with Shout. Big issue I'm having is anytime I think I have a run going well, he decides to Tornado 4-5x in a row. Had him under 5% multiple times now.
Well, I managed to get Laguna to 78, and Seifer, Selphie, and Irvine to 73, combined with Squall at 80 - they had no issues at all with Ultimate.
However, Bahamut... Selphie just cant keep up with alternating Tornados, and Ultimate Megaflares, it's redic.
...and it figures, after I post this, he decides to cast non-stop, completely resisted 'Stops' and only one Ultimate Megaflare. Mastered.
Spoiler: show
2 medals lost for damage, 1 for actions. Took b2b2b Megaflare's in the last 10%, but luckily I was capped off and had the presence of mind to anticipate at least 1 and had a Trabia's Light queued up. Got lucky during in the 40-20% range because Bahamut used stop a lot and it kept missing. RW was Shout.
Now to focus on Faris, Quina, Kuja, and Zidane.
not going to attempt cid for this event, i don't have a single FF8 character double-broken.
for a-team efforts, i forgot to bring in ice to ult and definitely didn't ace the rest, 60 stamina wasted. probably wait 'til thursday to go back for mastery. U+ on the other hand was pretty trivial, as i can just chain magic blinks via rosa/tyro BSSB RW. with shout/FB/ABD/book of despair, kain with a revolver was coming close to capping damage on SSB and capping on dragonfire dive.
Finally. Would almost swear the last 10% of Bahamut's HP bar is a lying piece of shit. Couple more hones probably would've secured a win sooner, but my VIII synergy is still blah.
Bahamut when using lots of AOEs: v hard
Bahamut when using lots of stops: not hard even when they land
That was the story of my runs.
Bahamut's MND is only 50, so his stops arent very potent, especially on healers where I just saw the debuff icon flash for a second before it wears. At worst, it shuts down a damage dealer for roughly the equivalent of 1 turn when it hits. It's certainly the preferred move in his skill set, unlike other fights where the stop was infuriating.
I had a run of this where he did 6 Twisters or w/e in a row to me
then I had a run where he did one twister, one megaflare and thundaga single target on my magic lured agrias lol
Took me 240 stamina but finally finished CM Ultimate >__> No Wall makes me cry.
I'm gonna worry about MM/DZ leveling once I get Exdeath's MC2 (Since I have his Runic Relic)
Meh... I don't have Edea's relic but should I be leveling her since I have Rinoa's?
Nope, that team is set. I wouldn't mind using her for CM though.
Lost 1 medal in damage- I'm freeeee from U+
