Hope they start filming as soon as possible then if S2 is confirmed. A huge part of the charm of this show were the kids and their innocence.

I agree, but I think it would also be cool to see a "10 years later" mid 90's version of the cast.

Loved the show though.
did they explicitly say barb died in upside down? i think i might have missed that part.
I liked the hapless Barb part. After finishing the season, I had to watch her scene again. No one else goes down in such glory. Shepard perhaps, but it was never shown.

Barb looked like a fat Molly Ringwald, and I was sad to see her die.

Just finished watching this start to finish, only part I'm kinda stumped over was the cop, when he was caught and they were all set to kill him and make it look like he od'd, what the hell did he have for leverage at that point? Couldn't have been just "oh we'll keep our mouths shut after this is over", cause killing them would've easily done that anyway.
Just started watching this with the wife. 4 Eps in and we are hooked. Shes not big on marathoning shows but she said "We aren't sleeping tonight, we're finishing this"
That's how my gfs was.
And yeah, he lied about the reporter but they didn't know that. He offered them a more than fair deal, considering they figured they would die in there any ways (they mention this on the show btw), and it eliminated the risk of a reporter actually having something on them.
It helps to have great actors, but this plot was amazing.

Can someone describe the general tone of this series? Horror, sci-fi, fantasy? etc.
Thanks.
I explain it to all my friends as E.T. meets X-Files meets Poltergeist.

with a mix of Nightmare on Elm Street.
