Of course that's the likely expectation. No one's arguing that it's literally impossible. The point is that it's ambiguous. She could be dead and he's leaving the waffles in memorium, like flowers on a grave. Nothing is CONFIRMED until we get another season.

Sure, it's a well known practice to leave "grave goods", food for the dead, in a place of their past residence or a makeshift place of vigil, but why da fuck would anyone leave saran wrapped eggo waffles? Of course it was left for her to eat.

Also, remember it's Mirkwood, the same forest in which Nancy climbed down the "rabbit hole" to enter the upside down world. It's very likely that it's the entry point and Eleven is basically guarding the gateway or stationed there to prevent anymore of the monsters from escaping. Then again, they can enter in any location, so who ta fuck knows. Season 2 needs to be here now.

Lol that kid Mike just going in for a lame kiss on Eleven, a girl that looks a couple of years older than him and has powers, was pretty damn ballsy, so much for ewwww. I usually don't care about the FBI/agent type looking suits in shows or movies but damn I really hated those people. I was so happy when Eleven exploded their brains.

A lot of people have been loving this show, even people I didn't expect to give it the time of day so I think all the positive reception is going to all but guarantee a 2nd season. The things they left off on will be amazing to look forward to.

el is alive. the food and waffles were for her. the only way it could be more obvious would be if they literally showed her, dancing around, singing "I AM SO DEFINITELY ALIVE YOU GUYS!"


like... I am literally flabbergasted trying to understand how anyone could possibly see that scene any other way. the only ambiguity in the scene where Hopper drops off the food is the sort of purposeful amibiguity that says "wink wink nudge nudge we're not directly saying she's alive, but... she's alive." which isn't meant to be actually ambiguous at all; it's a storytelling technique used to state the obvious without actually stating it.

I'm curious as to which character had a surprising change in motivation according to the article. The only one I can remember with even a slight change was Nancy, and I certainly wouldn't call it surprising.

he kinda sold out El and the kids in order to save Will. which was surprising but not really out of character when you think about it. maybe he goes further down the gubmint road next season
