Ok, this is going to be fun. My daughter watched this trailer and she loved it. Plus, Ryan Renolds is awesome.

I fully expect Mr. Mime memes to flood the internet in the next couple days.

I didn't freak out, but I god damn laughed with my friend because I wasn't expecting it, and it was lame. Not sure if anyone else in the cinema was impressed lol

I don't know. I think the initial reaction is for RR to be miscast, but take a half step back and think if thats because so many see him as absolutely nailing rated R Deadpool or because his style doesn't fit.

I think he can tone down the rated R part to simply be Pikachu w/snark as good as anyone else they could have cast in that role.

The latter, easily. I think he sounds great in this. And it's brilliant, because having him in the role combined with the "he can really speak" take has people who've had 0 interest in pokemon on the hype train.

Pretty much. One of the few cases where I whole heartily agree with the casting because it gets more people interested in this. If this blows it out of the park then I look forward to an entire live action movie franchise with pokemon.

This looks dumb and Deadpool as Pikachu is predictable (and all the reasons around that are cynical) and probably won't be that funny but...

Something about this I want to watch. It's like a train wreck of bad CG, definitely can't look away. Definitely would've been better with Danny Devito.

Good or bad this movie is going to be fucking awesome. And people are 100% going to go out on droves to watch it. For sure we're going to get more live-action stuff. Between the adults that loved Pokemon as kids when it first came out, to the kids that love it now to everyone in-between, this is going to be a popular movie regardless. I mean, look how crazy popular Pokemon Go was when it was first released?

Also, that Jigglypuff has to be the same one (or at least an homage) from the anime that always puts people to sleep with its singing and then gets angry and proceeds to draw on their faces. I mean, it's even holding the same mic/pen with a green cap in its hand that it does in the anime and is looking mighty angry cause the guy on the table is asleep
